Bonobo LLC is developing "ikasu," which reconstructs the stories and aesthetics of different eras embodied in kimonos as contemporary art. This event will showcase art pieces created by ikasu textile artist Lena Okamoto at sequence MIYASHITA PARK.
We are pleased to announce that we will be holding an art exhibition event at "sequence MIYASHITA PARK," a lifestyle hotel operated by Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management Co., Ltd., from March 20th (Fri) to April 19th (Sun), 2026.

The philosophy of ikasu, which cherishes traditional Japanese culture while continuously striving to create expressions that harmonize with modern spaces and lifestyles, and the brand concept of sequence, which is centered on "SMART, OPEN, and CULTURE," resonated with each other, leading to this event.

Ikasu's upcycling art breathes new value and stories into kimonos that have served their purpose.
Many kimonos and obi sashes that have served their purpose lie dormant in Japanese homes. However, due to the decreasing opportunities to wear them and the difficulty of storage, many are discarded without being passed on to the next generation. Ikasu utilizes these antique kimonos, obi sashes, and furniture as materials. Respecting the history and memories that each piece holds, they are reconstructed as contemporary textile art. By utilizing the inherent beauty of the materials and elevating them into works that shine in modern spaces, Ikasu connects Japanese culture and stories to the future.
Another major characteristic of ikasu is its pursuit of "all-upcycling," which makes full use of materials, such as using antique paulownia chests of drawers as frame material, in addition to kimonos and obi sashes.
