On the Road is the 5th movement within the song cycle, 'Hotel Chelsea,' created by Joi Olympia. It was inspired by the traveling stories of historic artists who passed through the Chelsea Hotel, including Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Arthur Miller, Patti Smith, and Jack Kerouac. Joi played guitar, bass, percussion, and violin on her album to weave together their beloved tales into something personal. Recorded and engineered in her home in Brooklyn. The video and song are influence by Jack Kerouac and his time spent writing the classic, America novel: On the Road.
