Pet care:

Bath N' Buns Mobile Pet Grooming: The locally-owned pet grooming service announced it will offer complimentary bath services for cats and dogs affected by the fires.

Transportation:

Uber: Residents in Los Angeles County who've been ordered to vacate their homes can get a credit from Uber to get to an evacuation site.

The $40 will only be valid for trips to an active shelter and by using the code WILDFIRE25.

Lyft: Lyft announced it will be offering $25 vouchers, valid for two trips, to 500 customers from now until midnight on Jan. 15. Use the code CAFIRERELIEF25 to get the promotion

Housing:

Airbnb: 211 LA is partnering with Airbnb to offer free temporary housing for people displaced due to wildfires. Click here for more information.

Queen Mary: The Queen Mary Hotel in Long Beach announced it will charge fire evacuees $189 for rooms. The reservation includes a voucher for a breakfast buffet for two people and waives pet and Historical Preservation fees.

  • Americans for the Arts: AFTA’s Disaster Preparedness and Response page has a number of resources from arts partners and organizations available to funders and service organizations in need of ways to streamline and expedite assistance to artists and organizations.
  • Entertainment Community Fund: Entertainment Community Fund is a national human services organization addressing the needs of the entertainment community with a unique understanding of the challenges involved in a life in the arts. The organization’s emergency financial assistance program provides temporary financial assistance to those with documented financial need due to unforeseen circumstances.   • MusiCares: MusiCares provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need. MusiCares’ services and resources cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies, and each case is treated with integrity and confidentiality. In times of hardship, MusiCares provides humanitarian disaster relief, emergency financial assistance for basic living expenses like rent, utilities, car payments and insurance premiums, assistance with instrument replacement/repair if stolen or damaged in a natural disaster (excluding wear-and-tear), and funeral costs for a music professional or their family member.   • Employment Development Department: The California Employment Development Department (EDD) provides a variety of services to individuals and businesses impacted by disasters in California. These range from assistance for those who may have lost a job due to the disaster, to employers who are forced to shut down operations. EDD staff located throughout the state are often called upon to lend a hand at Local Assistance Centers (LACs) established by the California Office of Emergency Services (OES). They provide assistance with filing claims for UI benefits, as well as job search assistance and other more general support and referrals to resources.

Friday, January 17, 2:00 - 7:00 pm: As the Los Angeles area wildfires continue to devastate Los Angeles County, California Lawyers for the Arts is working to provide aid to those affected by the fires. In response to this emergency, we are hosting a LA Wildfires Emergency Legal Clinic where you will be able to talk to an attorney over the phone for 20-30 minutes. Register here.
