Nominees Announced For The 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards

Nominations for the 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards were announced today by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). The annual awards show gala will be presented live in New York City.

The awards will be presented in two ceremonies: 

  • News categories of the News & Doc Emmys – Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. EDT 
  • Documentary categories of News & Doc Emmys – Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. EDT

The 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards will be presented live at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City and will be streamed live on the web at watch.theemmys.tv and via The Emmys® apps. 

"This year's documentary nominees represent an extraordinary range of storytelling, from deeply personal narratives to sweeping historical examinations," said Christine Chin, Head of Documentary Emmys. "These films challenge perspectives, elevate underrepresented voices, and demonstrate the power of documentary filmmaking to inform, engage, and inspire audiences worldwide."

The 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmys honor programming from more than 2000 submissions that originally premiered in calendar-year 2025, judged by a pool of more than 900 peer professionals from across the television and digital media News & Documentary industry.
