Things Will Be Different Review – A Mind-Bending Psychological Sci-Fi Thriller

Things Will Be Different, from Lightbulb Film Distribution, presents a sci-fi thriller as two estranged adult siblings meet up after the brother plans a heist and to escape the police uses a mysterious time-traveling hiding place.

The film begins with a woman, carrying a rifle, walking into the deserted diner. She looks around and see the only other patron, a man, with a rifle leaning up against the counter chair, and two leather bags. She sits beside him, and she begins to confirm the next steps. She explains she can only be gone for two weeks, no more. She has a daughter and can only stay away for two weeks. The man reassures her it will only be two weeks, long enough to let the trail go cold, and to spend some time quality together.

Day of the Fight Review – Excellent, Five Stars, A Brilliant Directorial Debut

Approaching sirens can be heard. The two, Joseph, played by Adam David Thompson, and Sidney, Riley Dandy, pick up the bags, leave the waitress, played by Jori Felker, a tip, and leave. Once they get to the woods, Sidney begins to throw in options, maybe not using this mysterious untested option, maybe just packing up and heading to the Midwest. Joseph explains, this is only for two weeks.

Suddenly they stumble on a campsite, littered with whisky bottles and tarps for tents. They prepare for the possibly of running into strangers. They hear shots and follow the noise, walking through a cornfield, which provides cover for them. They see three drunks in the driveway of an abandoned farmhouse, pitching glass bottles and shooting them. Sidney walks out of the cornfield, and with authority orders the men off "her land." In seconds her brother shows up and the drunks speed away.

The Bibi Files Review – Interesting, Journalistic Exposé, Includes October 7 Footage

They enter the house, just as the sirens begin to be heard. They search the house room by room it has obviously been abandoned for some time. Sidney begins to press Joseph to hurry to find the mysterious room. They find the room, which requires a sequence of turns using the hands of the grandfather clocks, once the door opens, a rotary dial phone is waiting. They dial, according to the directions, repeat a phrase and wait.

When they walk out of the room. The once abandoned house appears pristine, well-kept and comfortable. Both the refrigerator and cupboards are well stocked. And the seasons, summer when they entered the house is now winter, with barren, empty cornfields, as far as the eye can see. The barrenness of the winter holds promise.

The film skips ahead, counting each day, with an on-screen counter, the siblings are working through the estrangement, keeping watch, and waiting, with anticipation for the last day, when they can return to their former present day, with the money, and without concern.

The Room Next Door Review – Captivating and Resonating, A Must See

Over the two weeks, they have each tried to enter the locked barn door, and neither cared enough about the other side to break the lock. Day 14 arrives, as good guests they clean up the house, and head back to the mysterious room. Joseph is burning the garbage and walks to the barn door, which is now open, he decides to check out the inside. While Sidney is standing at the door, Joseph runs out of the barn, screaming. They both stop dead in their tracks at the door. Carved in a piece of wood, is a message, telling them to go to the barn. The mystery of the time traveling room begins to unravel.

This sets up the second act, leading to the explosive ending.
