Silver Saint George for Best Documentary Film – Aunt Hu and Her Garden of Eden, directed by Pan Zhiqi, China

Pan Zhiqi: "It took me more than 10 years to make this film. In this era of rapid development of technology and humanities, I always wonder about my manual filming method – why, actually, are we filming. But when my heroine was faced with the question of her son's life and death, she remembered the story of Pavel Korchagin and thus inspired her son. The strong-willed Korchagin, the kind-hearted Aunt Hu, or the happiness-seeking Katerina from the film "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears" – these are the heroes who make us stronger in the face of any difficulties. Thank you for this prize, which strengthened my faith in my future work! I will continue to make films about how ordinary people pave the way for us with their lives."
