MIFF: XIV Moscow Pitching of Debutants Announces Winners (Pics)

The XIV Moscow pitching of debutants, which took place as part of the business platform of the 42nd Moscow International Film Festival, has announced the winners in an event attended by talent, executives, and contestants.

The expert commission of the pitching included representatives of the leading online platforms, production studios, TV channels, as well as journalists.

Among them: Oleg Ivanov, Vladimir Grammatikov, Anton Kalinkin, Sergey Miroshnichenko, Igor Mishin, Susanna Alperina, Egor Moskvitin, Vadim Potapov, Vladislav Ketkovich, Natalia Goidenko.

The award ceremony took place on October 3 at the Humster restaurant. The event was attended by pitching participants, festival guests, as well as Russian cinema stars Alena Babenko, Olesya Sudzilovskaya, Anna Banshchikova, Kirill Zaitsev, Alexandra Revenko, Elizaveta Moryak and others. After the official part, a concert of Julia Peresild and the FarSmajor group took place.

Also, within the framework of the event, the presentation of the first in Russia web cinema Chill took place, which contains the best short films and web series from around the world.


MIFF Announces 5th BRICS Nations Film Festival


General producer of the platform Anton Kalinkin also promised that the winner in the web series nomination will have the opportunity to participate in the international festival Realist (Nizhny Novgorod) and Berlin Webfest (Berlin).

• Web series - "The Seven Demons of Sergeant Ryabov", scriptwriters Daler Rakhimov, Trofim Pustilnik, director Julia Sotnikova

• TV series - "Psyche", scriptwriter Nadezhda Karpova

• Work in progress - "Snapshot of the Soul", written and directed by Yakov Sivchenko, producers Yakov Sivchenko, Yulia Dragoshanskaya.

The XIV Moscow pitching of debutants took place on October 1 and 2 with a total prize fund of 3 million rubles. Also, within the framework of the business platform were held, panel discussion "Making films in Russia. Presentation of regional film clusters.

"Open-talk" How to bring debut films to world markets? Presentation of the EAVE ON DEMAND IN RUSSIA program," "How the year 2020 changed cinema and TV shows," presentation of the book by Anna Gudkova "Pitching. How to present and sell your idea."

To participate in the pitching, 950 applications were sent, of which the selection committee and the expert council included 40 projects in the short-list in the categories Fiction Feature Films, Fiction Short Films, Documentary Films, TV Series, Web Series "(This category passed for the first time)," Work-in-progress."

The organizers of the business platform of the Moscow International Film Festival are the Directorate of the Moscow International Film Festival, the Youth Center of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia with the support of the National Fund for the Support of Copyright Holders, Canon, the CHILL web cinema, the Association of Film and Television Producers.
