Academy Award winner Russell Crowe (L.A Confidential) will star in Unhinged, a psychological thriller which will start production July 15 in New Orleans. The film, which is the first Solstice Studios movie to go into production.

Unhinged will be directed by Derrick Borte (American Dreamer), written by Carl Ellsworth (Disturbia) and produced by Lisa Ellzey (Warrior).

From Cannes: Academy Award® Nominees Annette Bening and Michelle Pfeiffer to Star In Gideon Raff’s "Turn Of Mind"

Unhinged takes an ordinary, everyday incident to its most terrifying conclusion in telling the story of a mother who leans on her horn at the wrong time, to the wrong guy (played by Crowe). "Road rage" doesn't begin to describe what he's about to do to her and everyone she knows.

Crowe was nominated for three consecutive Best Actor Oscar® nominations for his work in The Insider; Gladiator, for which he took home the Oscar®; and A Beautiful Mind. He recently starred in Boy Erased and will next be seen in The True History of the Kelly Gang and the Showtime’s limited series The Loudest Voice.
