NARAL Pro-Choice California and 18 Partner Organizations Rally in San Francisco as Part of a National Day of Action to "Unite for Justice"

Sunday, August 26th, Women’s Equality Day, NARAL Pro-Choice California, together with eighteen partner organizations, California leaders and activists will join Americans across the country to demand the U.S. Senate stop Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.

NARAL Pro-Choice California and 18 Partner Organizations Will Rally in San Francisco as Part of a National Day of Action to  “Unite for Justice” and Stop Brett Kavanaugh. Congresswoman Barbara Lee, State Senator Scott Wiener, Assemblymember David Chiu, and Emcee Andrea Shorter Will Join in this Day of Action to Protect the United States Supreme Court.

With more than 150 events, and counting, taking place in all 50 states, and more than 65 organizations signed on nationally and representing tens of millions of people, August 26th will be the single largest day of action in history to oppose a Supreme Court nominee.

Donald Trump has long promised to only nominate a justice who will end Roe v. Wade criminalize abortion, and punish women. Trump has found his man in Brett Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh would rule against reproductive freedom, health care, the environment, voting rights, workers’ rights, LGBTQ rights, and immigrant rights for generations. We know what’s at stake in this fight: our most precious and fundamental rights.

The program in San Francisco will be emceed by Andrea Shorter, Commissioner on San Francisco’s Commission on the Status of Women, and include powerful music by Lapel, Aish, and Emma’s Revolution. Confirmed speakers include: Congresswoman Barbara Lee; NARAL Pro-Choice California State Director Amy Everitt; State Senator Scott Wiener; Assemblymember David Chiu; Reverend Yolanda Norton; LGBT Rights Activist Rebecca Prozan; Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis, Candidate for Lt. Governor; Dr. Pratima Gupta; Orson Aguilar, President of the Greenlining Institute; and Kristin Chaset, Little Lobbyists.
