2016 Race Due to Catch Fire with Clinton Announcement

Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former Secretary of State and New York Senator, is set to announce her intent to run for the democratic nomination in the 2016 Presidential election this Sunday in a low key noontime Iowa event.

Clinton, also a former First lady of the United States during the two term presidency of William “Bill” Clinton, has been mulling the idea of running for the position for some time.

Clinton, long considered the only viable female candidate with the chance to secure the top political office in the nation, has garnered as much as 37% of registered voters during the 2008 democratic nomination race second only to then candidate Barack Obama.

Recent polls place her at 67% of the most recognized names and single possible candidate to defeat any GOP candidate against a poll most top contenders.

Scandals also shadow the possible Presidential candidate; a full admission on Benghazi responsibility that left the U.S. Embassy vulnerable on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks resulted in the deaths of three including Libyan Ambassador J. Christopher Stephens and two others and the embassy attacked and destroyed. Her most recent E-mail scandals, while clearly not as compromising, has continued to portray her as someone who skirts the edge of controversy and legality.

Becoming a grandmother for the first time was also a consideration, as she will be forced to curtail spending time with Charlotte, the daughter of former first daughter, Chelsea. Other considerations include the obvious a Presidential nomination, on a losing ticket, effectively ends her storied political career. A VP nomination allows for one more attempt, as age has never been a male issue and should not be referenced here, four years can change the world and clearly the American political landscape.

Former President Clinton has been surprisingly silent during the contemplation and speculation of becoming the First Husband of the United States and speaking on issues centric to the Clinton Foundation.

This is a developing story.
