Las Vegas: The Mob Museum Announces January Events

Coming in January, The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, will unveils its latest exhibit, "Filmed in Las Vegas: America's Playground on the Silver Screen," plus its crime and punishment speaker series.

The Mob Museum also announces FREE admission for law enforcement professionals on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Federal, state and local law enforcement professionals can also enjoy other exclusive promotions as well as programs highlighting the courageous and enduring battle against organized crime in Las Vegas and beyond.

Fighting Crime in Las Vegas: Trends, Threats and How Our City Is Responding

Description: The Mob Museum will bring together Las Vegas' top law enforcement and regulatory leaders for an exclusive conversation on the city's most pressing crime trends.  From street-level offenses to cybercrime, and from illegal gambling to financial schemes, hear how agencies are keeping our community safe and how Nevada residents can help.

Speakers:

  • Andrew Walsh – Undersheriff, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department: Andrew Walsh serves as undersheriff for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Originally from Staten Island, New York, Walsh began his law enforcement career with the New York City Police Department. Walsh has held several roles within LVMPD. His assignments have spanned from serving as a patrol officer and field training officer to taking on responsibilities as an academy staff member to train the future generations of LVMPD officers. He served as a sergeant in patrol, the Field Training Program and the Public Information Office. Walsh then was promoted to lieutenant in the Downtown Area Command (DTAC) and Enterprise Area Command (EAC). Walsh's tenure as the lieutenant overseeing LVMPD's Saturation Team provided him with firsthand knowledge of what communities need and what expectations they have of their police department. His leadership capabilities were recognized when he was appointed as the Internal Affairs Bureau lieutenant before being promoted to captain. As the Downtown Area Command's captain, Walsh's expertise in safety and security led to his appointment as deputy chief, overseeing the Tourist Safety and Homeland Security Divisions. As an assistant sheriff, he directly supervised deputy chiefs, Labor Relations, IAB and the Clark County Detention Center. Newly elected Sheriff Kevin McMahill appointed Walsh as his undersheriff in 2023.           
  • ​Mike Dreitzer – Chairman, Nevada Gaming Control Board: Mike Dreitzer serves as chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, appointed by Governor Joe Lombardo in June 2025. Dreitzer brings to the position more than 25 years of experience in gaming, gaming law and regulation and executive leadership. Dreitzer began his career as a deputy attorney general, representing the Gaming Control Board and Gaming Commission. He went on to hold senior roles at Progressive Gaming, BMM Testlabs and Ainsworth Game Technology. Most recently, Dreitzer served as CEO of Gaming Arts, a start-up gaming equipment supplier. As chairman, Dreitzer leads the Control Board's regulatory efforts with a focus on modernization, transparency and efficient oversight of Nevada's gaming industry. He holds a B.S. in agricultural economics from Cornell University and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law. He has been a Nevada resident for more than 30 years.
  • ​Christopher Delzotto – Special Agent in Charge, FBI Las Vegas: Christopher Delzotto is the special agent in charge of the FBI's Las Vegas Field Office. He became a special agent in 2009 and was assigned to the New York Field Office, where he worked corporate and securities fraud matters. In 2017, he was promoted to supervisory special agent, where he served as a program manager for the FBI's Criminal Division. As part of the Criminal Division's Money Laundering Unit, he oversaw all the money laundering investigations in the South Central Region of the United States, which included 12 field offices. Upon completion of this 18-month assignment, he returned to the New York Field Office and continued to work money laundering investigations. In 2021, Delzotto was named the assistant special agent in charge of the San Antonio Field Office. He was responsible for the Criminal Division, Del Rio Resident Agency and Forensic Accounting program. Delzotto was assigned to the Las Vegas Field Office in 2025. Delzotto graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration, majoring in finance. In 2007, he received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Florida. Delzotto holds the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation and belongs to the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists.

Description: The ​​ Mob Museum invites the community to celebrate Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and honor the extraordinary service and sacrifice of the men and women who protect our communities. The Museum will host a dynamic lineup of activities, including free admission and complimentary access to either the Crime Lab or Firearm Training Simulator experience for law enforcement professionals with valid ID, as well as a free beer in The Underground speakeasy. Guests will have the rare opportunity to join an educator-led, law enforcement-themed guided tour and explore a distinctive showing of artifacts spotlighting the courageous and enduring battle against organized crime. Former undercover agents and co-hosts of the Museum's hit podcast "Inside the Life", Giovanni Rocco and Dutch McAlpin, will deliver firsthand stories from deep inside the world of mobsters, outlaw bikers and other criminal networks.  

Special Activities Include:

  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Special showing of artifacts.
  • 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.: Educator-led, law enforcement-themed guided tours.
  • 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Former undercover agents Giovanni Rocco and Dutch McAlpin program.

Description: The Mob Museum's latest exhibit, "Filmed in Las Vegas: America's Playground on the Silver Screen," features movie posters from 11 films shot in Las Vegas during the city's "Golden Age." These films, ranging from 1941 to 1969, include "Ocean's 11" and "Viva Las Vegas." Lobby cards and a montage video also show the evolution of Las Vegas films and the city itself from the 1940s to the present. The movie posters have been generously loaned from the collection of Las Vegas businessman Dan Tuntland.

ABOUT THE UNDERGROUND 

The Underground is an immersive Prohibition history exhibition featuring a speakeasy, distillery and private VIP room in the basement of The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement. Artifacts from the 1920s and 1930s tell the intriguing story of the Prohibition era, which not only saw a proliferation of bootlegged booze and the meteoric growth of organized crime outfits but also had a profound, lasting impact on society, specifically making way for modern cocktail culture. A seasonal cocktail menu gives guests the opportunity to try contemporary takes on classic Prohibition-era cocktails. The menu and atmosphere have landed the speakeasy on several "best cocktail bars in Las Vegas" lists. Distillery tastings allow participants to learn about Prohibition and its impact on a variety of spirits and drinking habits while tasting a few of the Museum's moonshines. The distilling program has received numerous accolades, including "Best Moonshine" at the 2020 International Whiskey Competition, "Best in Class" and "Gold" and "Silver Medals" at the 2024 American Distilling Institute's International Spirits Competition and "Gold" and "Silver Medals" at the 2022, 2023 and 2024 California Craft Spirits Competition.
