Signature Films and Canopy Media Partners Launch Sales for "Riff Raff"

An all-star line-up has assembled for director Dito Montiel's crime comedy Riff Raff, starring Emmy® Award Winner Jennifer Coolidge, Emmy® Award Winner Brian Cox, Academy® Award Winner Dustin Hoffman, and Gabrielle Union. Signature to launch sales in Cannes.

Canopy Media Partners' Noah Rothman (Small Engine Repair) and Signature Films' Marc Goldberg and Sarah Gabriel (The Estate) are producing the film.  Executive Producers include Adam Paulsen (Pig, On The Count of Three), John Pollono, Chris Dennis for Canopy Media Partners, and Capstone's Christian Mercuri. 

Roadside Attractions Acquires U.S. Rights to Family Comedy "Camp Hideout"

Additional EP's include Brian Cox, Mathew Lesher, Jennifer Coolidge, and Tiffany Kuzon. Signature will launch international sales on the project in Cannes, with Capstone representing domestic rights with CAA Media Finance and WME Independent. 

Based on a script by John Pollono, Riff Raff centers on a former criminal's ordinary life which is thrown upside down when his old family shows up for a long-awaited reckoning. Filming is set to begin in September.

Coolidge has become one of the best-known names in comedy, most recently earning an Emmy®, a Golden Globe®, a SAG® Award and two Critics' Choice Awards for her role in HBO's dark comedy-drama anthology "The White Lotus." She is best known for her performances in Christopher Guest's comedies including Best in Show, the beloved American Pie and Legally Blonde film franchises, and last year's hit Netflix series "The Watcher." 

Cox is an Emmy® and Golden Globe® Award winner, whose most recent performance as Logan Roy on HBO's hit drama "Succession" has been widely lauded. Cox is well known for his roles in Spike Jonze's Academy® Award-winning comedy Adaptation, Warner Bros' epic drama Troy, and 20th Century Fox's 2011 remake Rise of the Planet of the Apes. He will next appear in Universal's The Electric State, from the Russo Brothers.

Hoffman is one of the most esteemed actors of our time, having received two Academy® Awards for Best Actor for Kramer vs Kramer and Rain Man, an Emmy® for Death of a Salesman, and a Golden Globe® for Tootsie. He has also appeared in such iconic films as The Graduate, Midnight Cowboy, All the President's Men, Wag the Dog and more. He recently appeared in Noah Baumbach's The Meyerowitz Stories, and his upcoming roles include an appearance in Francis Ford Coppola's sci-fi drama Megalopolis.

Union is an actress, producer, best-selling author, and Time100 cover honoree. Union most recently starred in the A24 drama The Inspection, opposite Jeremy Pope, which premiered to acclaim at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival, earning Union Gotham and Independent Spirit Award nominations. Union stars in and executive produces the Netflix original romantic comedy The Perfect Find, releasing June 23rd, 2023. Union will executive produce and be featured in the BET+ docuseries, "My Journey to 50", releasing on June 15th, 2023.

Montiel made his directorial debut with A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints starring Robert Downey Jr. and Dianne Wiest, based on the director's own memoir. He is also known for directing the drama Boulevard, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2014, and most recently 2020's Critical Entertainment, starring John Leguizamo.

Signature Films is behind the upcoming Joe Keery and Camila Morrone crime caper Marmalade; Dean Craig's The Estate starring Toni Collette, Anna Faris, David Duchovny and Kathleen Turner; Bar Fight! with Melissa Fumero and Rachel Bloom; the Ryan Philippe actioner One Shot; and the Neil Maskel crime thriller Bull.
