Rialto Pictures to Release Five Classics By Francis Ford Coppola

New York-based specialty distributor Rialto Pictures will now handle theatrical distribution of five classics by director Francis Ford Coppola: Dementia 13, Twixt Now and Sunrise, Tucker: The Man And His Dream, Apocalypse Now: Final Cut, and The Conversation.

THE CONVERSATION, Coppola's 1974 thriller starring Gene Hackman, winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, opens January 14 at New York's Film Forum and January 28 at Landmark's Nuart Theatre in L.A., with newly struck 35mm prints personally supervised by Coppola. The rollout also offers theaters a DCP remixed in Dolby 5.1 by legendary sound designer Walter Murch, along with the new poster and trailer.

"I've always been especially proud of THE CONVERSATION, partly because it was from my own original story and screenplay" says Coppola. "I count it among the most personal of all my films and I'm happy the movie became the very thing it was about — invasion of privacy and its erosive impact on both victims and perpetrators. This was my goal when I conceived it over 40 years ago, and to my surprise, the idea still resonates today. I'm glad Rialto is bringing the film back to theaters so people can experience it the way it was first presented, on the big screen."

THE CONVERSATION stars Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman in one of his greatest roles -- as an enigmatic, repressed surveillance expert who finds himself caught up in a possible murder plot. It features an astonishing supporting cast, including John Cazale, Cindy Williams, Frederic Forrest, Teri Garr, Harrison Ford, and, in an unbilled cameo, Robert Duvall.

TWIXT NOW AND SUNRISE:  2021 re-cut of Coppola's 2011 film Twixt, a supernatural murder mystery which takes a very personal turn with Val Kilmer, Elle Fanning, Bruce Dern, and Alden Ehrenreich.
