SABAN Films Takes "Soul Assassin" Starring Bruce Willis and Nomzamo Mbatha

Saban Films announced today that they have acquired North American rights along with Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, France, South Africa, and Scandinavia rights to the Jesse Atlas directed Soul Assassin starring Emmy Award Winner® Bruce Willis.

The revenge thriller also stars Nomzamo Mbatha (Coming 2 America) and Barry Jay Minoff (Exposure, Among the Shadows).

Atlas co-wrote the script alongside Aaron Wolfe, based on their short Let Them Die Like Lovers.  Jeff Elliott (Beast of Burden, Untogether, The Poison Rose) produced, and 120dB Films co-financed the film with Elliott's Brickell and Broadbridge.  Soul Assassin, which is set to release in 2022, recently wrapped principal photography.

Soul Assassin follows a former black-ops soldier who takes the place of a man who died as part of an experimental military program, to find out who killed him. The thriller marks the latest collaboration between Saban Films and Willis, following Chuck Russell's recently announced Paradise City, Jared Cohn's Reactor, and the recently released Cosmic Sin and Breach.

Saban Films' Bill Bromiley said, "We love working with Bruce and are particularly excited for Soul Assassin.   Jesse's Let Them Die Like Lovers was such a high-concept, character-driven thriller and we can't wait for audiences to see this revenge story."

Bill Bromiley negotiated the deal on behalf of Saban Films along with Brickell and Broadbridge on behalf of the producers.  Brickell & Broadbridge, which recently co-financed and produced Saban Film's The Vanished, is handling worldwide sales.

Saban Films recently announced its continued expansion beyond North America, finalizing deals with distribution partners across numerous territories including Austria, France, Germany, Scandinavia and Spain. In September, Saban partnered with Altitude Media Group across the UK and Ireland, elevating its profile as a major global distributor.  The company continues to grow its presence in the industry, also expanding into the production space.

Saban Films' successes have run the gamut from theatrical triumphs such as the horror reboot Wrong Turn starring Charlotte Vega and Matthew Modine, and Josh Duhamel's Buddy Games, to acclaimed films such as Brad Furman's City of Lies starring Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker and Ian Nelms and Eshom Nelms' Fatman with Mel Gibson.  Saban Films is a major force in the eventized theatrical space, being behind the biggest Fathom events with horror icon and heavy metal mastermind Rob Zombie's 3 From Hell and Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.
