U.S. Air Force Celebrates 70th Birthday With Three Day Party at Live On Green

The United States Air Force is celebrating its 70th birthday with a three-day blowout bash, which will be free and open to the public, in Pasadena, California the last weekend of 2016 and ending January 1, 2017.
With a planned celebration that offers something for everyone, and as it is a birthday party for the men and women in blues, the party will kick off with one of the most comprehensive displays of Air Force technology and advanced military defense systems ever shared at a public demonstration.
The Air Force is rolling it out with more than 22,000 square feet of display and will have the USAF Honor Guard Drill team, the USAF Galaxy Rock Band and the USAF Marching Band on site to entertain.
The Air Force is welcoming guests for various hands on challenges including flying an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and flying a simulated mission aboard the F-22 Rapid Strike.
It wouldn’t be a party without a few surprises and visitors will be among the first civilians to see the unveiling of the newest Air Force Fighter Jet, the F-35 Lightning II Stealth Jet. The Air Force is rolling out a MQ-9, a drone type offensive strike defense aerial system.
Sounds like a fun party, right? Well, it gets better! The family friendly festival is FREE! And takes place at the Pasadena Convention Center from Friday, December 30, 2016 through Sunday, January 1, 2017. The party is happening Friday and Saturday, 9:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
So, head on over, preferably on public transportation as parking will be costly and scarce, to The Pasadena Convention Center, 300 East Green Street, in Pasadena, California.
Okay so I know what you’re thinking three days sounds great for Air Force junkies, what about the rest of us?
Well, someone thought about that and decided to expand the celebration to include FREE music, theater, food and a celebration of the ROSE Parade and the Granddaddy of them all, the Rose Bowl Football game.
For children of all ages the Coaches Challenge Family Fun Zone – an outdoor fun-filled zone of games, skills activities and street performer will entertain all ages.
Team members from The Los Angeles Rams will be on hand and sponsoring a inflatable obstacle, run, pass, punt, football course
New York Life Insurance will be on site to help parents with the Child ID Program which will allow your child to be photographed and fingerprinted and will issues identification cards to parents.
The Rose Parade will celebrate its 128-year history with a nostalgic display of its history, artistry and pageantry. Fans will be privilege to watch iconic and classic Rose Bowl games is a specially outfitted viewing area.
Still waiting for something, um, interesting?
Well for the foodies among us – The Celebration on the Green will present ongoing culinary and mixology demos from celebrity Chef’s.
The Dole Company is presenting the LIVE on the Green! Bistro, a tea and coffee bar and Terrace Club will feature a gourmet menu, where visitors can enjoy a delicious snack or lunch, snacks, and specialty drinks. Complimentary shiatsu massages, smoothies from DOLE Smoothie Bar and Dole Whip, the swirled soft serve pineapple dessert.
The Center Stage will provide live Music, comedy acts, surprise guests throughout the three-day party.
The Spirit Theater will have speakers from the Science, art and literature communities and special film screenings guaranteed to entertain young and old.
