World Premiere of Disney's Moana Among Special Screenings At AFI FEST 2016 Presented By AUDI

The American Film Institute (AFI) announced today the films that will play in the Special Screenings section of AFI FEST 2016 presented by Audi, which includes three World Premieres and four additional highly anticipated films.

The World Premiere of the CG-animated film MOANA (DIRS Ron Clements, John Musker) will play in the Special Screenings section, along with BRIGHT LIGHTS: STARRING CARRIE FISHER AND DEBBIE REYNOLDS (DIRS Fisher Stevens, Alexis Bloom), LION (DIR Garth Davis), PATERSON (DIR Jim Jarmusch) and TONI ERDMANN (DIR Maren Ade). Also bowing as Special Screenings will be the World Premieres of MISS SLOANE (DIR John Madden) and, as previously announced, THE COMEDIAN (DIR Taylor Hackford).

In addition, as part of the festival's events, The Hollywood Reporter will be presenting the third annual Indie Contenders Roundtable, moderated by THR columnist and blogger Scott Feinberg. This event provides festival goers with the opportunity to hear from a diverse panel of distinguished artists who have achieved standout work this year in independent films.

Panelists include Kate Beckinsale (LOVE & FRIENDSHIP), Adam Driver (PATERSON), Sally Field (HELLO, MY NAME IS DORIS), Rebecca Hall (CHRISTINE), Margo Martindale (THE HOLLARS), Viggo Mortensen (CAPTAIN FANTASTIC), Ruth Negga (LOVING), Chris Pine (HELL OR HIGH WATER) and Miles Teller (BLEED FOR THIS).
