Boise: Unistellar Creates Stellar Collective Set To Host Conference 10.3.25 On Citizen Astronomy

Unistellar today announces the creation of Stellar Collective, an independent organisation which is set to host a new kind of conference dedicated to participatory science in astronomy set to take place at Boise State University, Idaho.

Among the lineup of speakers, Ariel Graykowski, Postdoctoral Fellow at the SETI Institute will host a keynote on Unistellar’s Comet Campaign, demonstrating how a worldwide network of users is contributing valuable observations to planetary science. This initiative reflects Unistellar’s mission: to democratize space exploration and make groundbreaking research possible through collective participation.

Space Science: The James Webb Space Telescope - A New Era in Astronomy

Unistellar enables stargazers to regularly participate in collaborative and citizen science missions with globally recognised institutions such as NASA and SETI Institute. From this solid foundation, Unistellar has built a thriving community of more than 25,000 users worldwide.

The Stellar Collective conference will take place at Boise State University, thanks to the collaboration of Dr. Brian Jackson, Associate Professor, Department of Physics. It will bring together the new generation of astronomers, researchers, scientists, educators, and also influencers around science viewed as a fun place for sharing data for the common good.

Citizen science is the opportunity for everyone, regardless of prior knowledge, to actively participate in tomorrow's scientific discoveries: whether you're an emeritus scientist, an amateur astronomer, an observer from your garden, a university professor, or simply curious, citizen science welcomes everyone to participate in a world where discovery is experienced together.

Discoveries of exoplanets or distant galaxies, human satellite tracking, solar system observation, planetary defense: in astronomy, citizen science can be practiced by anyone from anywhere, without prior knowledge or technical skills, lengthy setup or long nights standing in the cold or even from a busy city center.
