The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have recently announced their decision to step back as Senior Royals and concentrate on becoming financially independent and carve out a new role with the institution.
Prince Harry, once second in line to the throne, has been unceremoniously pushed to the end of the line with the birth of his nephew’s and nieces, and with succession securely covered the rebellious royal has decided now is the best time to revolutionize his role stepping back from his position as a Senior Royal splitting his time between the home of his wife, actress Megan Markle, in Canada and his home, place, position and duty to the United Kingdom.

The move, which comes after “soul searching” and a documentary in which his wife explains the hardships of the lifestyle, the constant media scrutiny much as one would receive if one were a “A-list” actress, and of course her portrayal as difficult as allegation of her less than friendly treatment of staff and others.
The official memo, which from all accounts, went against the expressed wishes of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, indicates the two desire to become financially independent, commoners, with a safety net and a kind, forgiving grandma if things go south.

Ms. Markle recently secured a voice over acting job with the Walt Disney Company in exchange for a sizable contribution to the charity of her choice.

After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.
It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.
This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties.
