The Magic Reindeer: Beyond the Northern Lights, from Kaleidoscope Entertainment, presents a family friendly animated feature, as junior reindeers Nico and Stella, are caught up in a Christmas adventure as they work together to find who stole Santa's sleigh.
The film begins as Nico, voiced by Matthew Whelan, and his siblings, are enjoying a snow day, when Jonni, voiced by Sammy Schrein, their chaperone, informs them enough horseplay. Then, the team of Santa's reindeer arrives, and Prancer, Niko's dad, voiced by Paul Tylak, informs him training to become one of Santa's reindeer begins today.
Things Will Be Different Review – A Mind-Bending Psychological Sci-Fi Thriller
Just as Niko is earning his reindeer bridle, Stella, voiced by Lucy Ebert, calls out, interrupting the ceremony and challenges Niko, for a place on the team. She explains the ancient rules allow for any young reindeer to challenge the choice. This sets up a contest between Niko and Stella, a series of three tests to prove who is the fittest and most ready to be chosen for the junior reindeer training program.
After the first two tests, it is a tie, both Stella and Niko have each one won. The third challenge is set for the next morning. Niko, is a kind soul, and as he wants to befriend Stella, he shares with her the secret code to seeing Santa's sleigh.
The next morning, alarms are ringing suddenly every reindeer is on high alert. Santa's sleigh has been stolen! Niko finally explains that he told Stella about the secret code, but she wouldn't, I mean why would she steal the sleigh? With Christmas days away this sets off a massive, hard target search, every corner of the northern region is begin searched.
Dragonkeeper Review – Animation Family Friendly Film Delivers Big Entertainment
The scene cuts to Stella pulling the sleigh and making a landing at an ice cave. Her father, Ilmar, voiced by Rolf Berg, welcomes her home, complimenting her on the excellent work. By chance, Niko sees the cave and follows Stella home and tries to convince them to release the sleigh and not destroy Christmas.
Ilmar, we find, has waited many years for this day. As Niko and Stella are now captive, she explains that Ilmar and Prancer were once best of friends, and like them, they had each competed in the junior reindeer challenge, and like them, it was tied at one each, until the last challenge, when Ilmar began entangled and was unable to free himself, and even though he pleaded with Prancer to help, Prancer made a decision to leave his friend, his brother, and win the competition. Ilmar was unable to ever compete again.
Sight Review – A Heartwarming, Entertaining, and Inspiring Family Friendly Film
Once the darkness of the secret is exposed, it changes everyone. Along the way on our holiday adventure, we meet the loveable lemmings looking for a fearless leader, and they find a match in Jonni, who along with Lillie, voiced by Lucy Smith, who believe that Niko cannot survive without them.
This sets up the surprising ending filled with holiday cheer, and our newfound army of loveable Lemmings who save the day! The Magic Reindeer: Beyond the Northern Lights is a fun, entertaining, animated holiday film. Good fun for the entire family.
