The Step, the Hot Pick of UK Student Radio, Release New Single and Video 'Stay Awake'

"Hot Pick" of the UK Students Radio Chart Show 2016, The Step is an Indie Pop/Rock band based in London. Founded in Rome in 2007 by Stefano Donato, the band moved to London where Oliviero Fella joined in 2013.

Their single 'Gravity' has been played by over forty regional and student radio stations around UK, and was been Record Of The Week on BFBS British Forces Radio, broadcast across itwenty-three countries.

After gigging in important venues around London and playing for Noel Gallagher at his official after show party in March 2015, the band released their debut EP on December 2014.

The Brazilian TV channel SBT chose 'Gravity' and 'Something More' as part of the soundtrack of TV Drama 'Cúmplices de Um Resgate' while their single 'Let It Go Friends' was been played in September 2015 by DJ Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio.

The band's cover of 'Across The Universe' is on air now in all "Bill'srestaurants around UK on the morning playlist. "Horizon" has been picked to to be part of the soundtrack of an italian movie 'On Air' which was released on 31st of March 2016.

February 2016 saw the band playing twenty-three universities around UK for the Coffee House Sessions, and during the summer of 2016 The Step played live in Rome as well appearing at Camden Rocks Festival, Taste Festival, Sofar Sounds and Staycation Festival.
 

The Step's music is a mix of introspective lyrics, bittersweet echoing blends of post-Brit Pop and and the Italian alternative background. Passionate pianos, jittery guitars, dynamic drums and romantic lyrics are infused with insecurity and doubts juxtaposed with the will to rise and make it, each track is a personal statement of intent.
 

The Single 'Stay Awake' was written and produced by The Step, mixed by Liam Nolan (Adele '25') and mastered by Andy  "Hippy" Baldwin at Metropolis Studio in London.
