Forest Live UK Concert Series Adds The Rainband to Summer Line Up; Band To Open For Kaiser Chiefs

Kaiser Chiefs' frontman Ricky Wilson, a fan of the Manchester based band, personally phoned vocalist Martin Finnigan to ask The Rainband to join the lineup on Sunday July 3rd 2016 at Delamere Forest as part of the Forest Live Summer Concert Series.

Both front men are known for their captivating and energetic live performances, making this one of the most exciting gigs of the summer. Wilson said "As a band we've always loved to play outdoors, we've done fields, parks, farms, rooftops, beaches and back gardens, but this will be the first time we've played in a forest. If you go down to the woods this Summer, you're sure of a big surprise. We're really looking forward to being part of Forest Live."

The event has already sold out but a waiting list for tickets is in operation here:

The Rainband
Storm
18 March 2016

Founded in 2011 by frontman Martin Finnigan and guitarist Phil Rainey (former band mate of Peter Hook in Monaco), the band became a four piece when drummer Steve Irlam and multi-instrumentalist Joe Wilson joined the ranks, recently growing into a five piece with new addition bassist Sam Wilson.

The band have earned rave reviews from the likes of Liam Gallagher and Jim Kerr and are an established name on Manchester's music scene. Following tours and support slots with legendary acts such as Simple Minds, Ocean Colour Scene and The Kaiser Chiefs, the Rainband received an invitation to the British Music Awards as Rising Stars handpicked by O2.

The Rainband's single 'Rise Again' entered the top 10 indie charts upon its release in June 2012. 'Rise Again' also broke through in Italy, remaining in the Virgin charts for fourteen weeks and peaking at number 5. Released in tribute to late Moto GP rider Marco Simoncelli and in aid of the Simoncelli Foundation, 'Rise Again' has helped raise over €45,000 so far. Martin Finnigan continues to work for the Foundation as UK Ambassador.
