Leading Russian Film Producers Join interactive Film Card Project

Kino-Teatr.Ru and the Association of Film and Television Producers (APKiT) have become strategic partners in the development of the interactive Film Card of Russia, an online project that displays the geography of filming Russian films and series.

The agreement on the eve of the opening of the Russian Creative Week - Far East was signed by APKiT Executive Director Olga Zhukova and Editor-in-Chief of Kino-Teatr.Ru Zhan Prosyanov. They announced this on May 25, on the first day of the festival-forum at the session "Cinema in the Far East. Limitations and Opportunities", which was moderated by Dmitry Yakunin, Deputy Executive Director of the Regional Cinema Support Fund (FPRK) of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.

Cinema Map of Russia Released by Internet Portal Kino-Teatr-Ru

APKiT, which includes the largest Russian film companies, whose share in the total production of audiovisual content today reaches about 70%, will assist Kino-Teatr.Ru in the prompt and reliable addition of film labels, which will form the basis for the development of tourist film routes. Such cooperation promises to speed up the process of filling the online map with information.

The Film Map of Russia project aims to tell a wide audience where films and series have been filmed or are being filmed at the moment. This will contribute to their promotion, as well as drawing attention to the regions and the influx of tourists to them. The online map was launched in mid-May by Kino-Teatr.Ru with the support of the Internet Development Institute (ANO IRI).

Moscow International Film Festival Announces Program and Jury

"The 'Kinokarta of Russia' is an interesting project in terms of its content, it is based on an original idea. It is large-scale, as it combines three tasks: the promotion of films and series, the desire to draw attention to the regions and develop film tourism. The project, indeed, is equally significant for both the film industry and the tourism industry, with a wide coverage - both the moviegoer and the tourist. APKiT joins the project with great enthusiasm. "Kinokarta Rossii" will become the flagship for the development of film tourism, " says Olga Zhukova .

"For us, this partnership is very important - the support from the producers is of great importance for the further development of the project. We will be able to turn Kinokarta into a large-scale encyclopedia of Russian cinema filming in a fairly short time frame. It is also a great way to promote movies and series. Kinokarta will also help the creators of film projects in choosing locations, and this is what we also intend to develop. So the strategic partnership with APKiT opens up a whole sea of opportunities, which we are very happy about. We are confident that the cooperation will be long and fruitful," notes Zhan Prosyanov.

The Association of Film and Television Producers unites the largest Russian film companies, which together produce about 70% of all domestic audiovisual content: series, feature and documentary films, and animation projects.
