Cinema Map of Russia Released by Internet Portal Kino-Teatr-Ru

The Kino-Teatr.Ru portal has launched an interactive project "Cinema Map of Russia," which will show a map of the Russian stars and filming locations for famous films, series, and famous film events to help develop unique tourist cinema routes.

"Kinokarta Rossii" is an online map of significant geographical places for the film industry. Thanks to her, it will be possible to find out where the very addresses where famous films were filmed are located.

So, for example, many different projects were created in Karelia. There, in particular, is the city of Pitkyaranta, where the famous TV series Epidemic was filmed. On the way to it there is a waterfall where Zhenya Kamelkova from The Dawns Here Are Quiet bathed and sang Katyusha, and a mountain park where the first Russian 3D film Dark World was filmed.

And from the Volga embankment in Yaroslavl, the famous "Cruel Romance" by Eldar Ryazanov begins, it also appears in the snowy dream of the Violinist from "Kin-dza-dzy" by Georgy Danelia, the anti-war drama by Grigory Chukhrai "Clear Sky", Pavel Lyubimov's melodrama "Women" and one from the main domestic films of the 2010s "Arrhythmias" by Boris Khlebnikov.

Chukotka was the birthplace of the Berlin Film Festival award-winning film How I Spent This Summer, the Kinotavr and Venice award-winning film Whaler, and the Oscar-nominated documentary Exit.

A special feature of the Kinokarta is the possibility for users to fill it out on their own - after authorization, everyone will be able to attach their own photos with a short story about this place, how it is connected with the cinema and what events took place here, as well as share personal stories about participating in filming, etc.

And for film studios and online platforms, Kinokarta will provide an opportunity to talk about upcoming projects and reveal the details of films and series that have already been shot.

All users of Kinokarta will be able to become co-authors of the development of unique tourist film routes in various directions. Their personal stories will be part of such excursions.

"We see a serious need in the industry for a geographical unification on one resource. "Kinokarta" is, in fact, a kind of interactive encyclopedia of cinema, where you can learn about films using their coordinates. We encourage everyone to fill out the card and share their family stories related to filming. We want Kinokarta to unite both filmmakers and their viewers in this way, and also to inspire everyone to film trips, " says Vladimir Gnezdilov , project manager.

"This is an important project for Kino-Teatr.Ru. We are creating a new environment for the interaction of all participants in the film industry and we want to show that films are shot not only in Moscow and St. Petersburg, our map will clearly prove how strongly different regions of Russia are involved in the film process. In addition, cinema can become an important component of the tourist attraction of the regions, and we are promoting such a tourist destination as film travel in every possible way. We already see further development paths for Kinokarta and hope that this project will be in great demand, " says Zhan Prosyanov , editor-in-chief of the Kino-Teatr.Ru portal.

Kinokarta Rossii was created with the support of the Internet Development Institute (ANO IRI).
