Paralympian Gold Medalist Mallory Weggemann’s Virtual Book Launch Event to Benefit Angel City Sports

Angel City Sports, the organization behind the Angel City Games  will be the beneficiary of proceeds from the launch party for Paralympian Mallory Weggemann's new book, Limitless: The Power of Hope and Resilience to Overcome Circumstance.

Weggemann will be joined by Olympian Missy Franklin for an intimate virtual Zoom evening to celebrate the launch of the book on March 11, from 5:30-6:45pm PST.

Throughout Limitless, Weggemann – who is a Paralympic gold-medalist, world champion swimmer, ESPY winner, NBC Sports commentator, and adaptive athlete mentor – uses her extraordinary story to equip others to meet whatever challenges they face in life. In this unique vitural book launch event, Weggemann will take a deeper dive into her journey and expand on using the power of hope and resilience to overcome circumstances. Singer/songwriter Joshua Radin also will make a special musical appearance during the event.

Tickets are as following: $125: Bronze Admission, and guests receive a copy of Limitless; $150: Silver Admission, and guests receive a signed copy of Limitless; $250: Gold Admission, and guests receive a signed copy of Limitless, Angel City Sports gear, and special access to a 30-minute After Party with Weggemann and Franklin. Proceeds from the launch party will go directly towards supporting adaptive athletes. In April, Weggemann will host a special "Limitless" reading and Q&A for children and adults who have recently joined the adaptive community; attendees will receive a signed copy of the book and hear firsthand how they can overcome challenging circumstances just as Weggemann did.

In 2008 as a college freshman, a routine medical procedure left Weggemann paralyzed from the waist down. With the support of her family, community and friends, she began her recovery and returned to competitive swimming. In less than two years, she eight world records, and by the 2012 Paralympic Games, Weggemann held 15 world records and 34 American records. Weggemann represented Team USA at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games and won two gold medals and a silver at the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships.

Formally launched in 2015, Angel City Sports is committed to improving the lives of kids, adults, and veterans with physical disabiliites through its sport programming, as well as its new Beyond Sport initiative, which will include workshops and seminars in the arts, health and wellness, eduction, career development, and personal development.
