A Victorian Flower Album, grow: The Art of Koyamori Review – Exquisite, Imaginative, Gorgeous

PIE International will release two additional front line books for Fall 2018. October will see the release of A Victorian Flower Album featuring hand drawn wild flowers from the Victorian Era and the exquisite artistry in grow: The Art of Koyamori.

A Victorian Flower Album contains illustrations that were originally published over 100 years ago, and sketched by Henry Terry, a father in the hills of Oxfordshire, England who documented flora and fauna for his daughters.

A Victorian Flower Album, "Collected and Painted in the summer evenings of 1873 as a pleasing recreation," each page is filled with a collection of the hundreds of flowers, tree fruit, wild and cultivated buds, blooms, blossoms, florets, floras and plants recreations with handwritten notes and names in English at the foot of the stems and the Japanese name at the top.

The 112 pages are uniquely presented on parchment coloring. In the index the scientific names of each illustration is written followed by the English name, followed then by the Japanese name.

A Victorian Flower Album by Henry Terry will be released October 1, 2018.

The second book released by PIE in October will be grow: The Art of Koyamori, from well-known, Asian/Canadian artist/illustrator Koyamori, who is known throughout the instagram world by @Maruti_Bitamin.

The images are beautiful and reflect a maturity in talent while addressing the common challenges, ideas and beliefs of youth. Her rendition of female butterflies, beautiful creatures with exotic wings, crystals, emeralds, sapphires and faces of teenage girls. The message, not spoken, speaks volumes: we can fly, we can hide, we can be.

She also presents her version of life's interaction with fashion, animals, food, skateboards and shoes. With an ability to create intimate and personal facial expressions that reflect realism, the emotion emits from the pages. She is impressive.  

A magnificent collection of new illustrations grow: The Art of Koyamori is beautiful and exquisite and leaves one awe-struck. The English edition of grow: The Art of KoyamorI features a reversible dust jacket that includes the cover from the Japanese edition on the rear side.
