The Order Review – Five Stars, A Must See, Electrifying

The Order, from Vertical Entertainment, brings to the screen the true story of an underground brotherhood of white supremacists building a militia, in the pacific northwest, and the dedicated law enforcement who are determined to stop them.

The film begins as three friends are driving somewhere in Idaho, deep in the natural forest. The men stop and begin walking each carrying shovels. From now where, one-man shots the other, execution style, and the other two men bury him.

Day of the Fight Review – Excellent, Five Stars, A Brilliant Directorial Debut

Then we meet FBI agent Terry Husk, played by Jude Law, who drew the short straw and was assigned to this small, one person, FBI outpost. As he is acclimating himself to the town, he keeps seeing White Power flyers, everywhere, even in the local tavern.

He checks-in at the local law enforcement office and asks Sheriff Loftlin, played by Philip Granger, about the posters and asks him if it is the Aryan Nation. Loftlin explains it away, as boys will be boys. A newbie deputy, Jamie Bowen, played by Tye Sheridan, overhears the exchange and makes eye contact with Husk. Subtly, Husk lights a cigarette and leaves his lighter on Bowen's desk and leaves the building. Bowen follows him out and explains that one of his friends, Bruce Pierce, played by Sebastian Pigott, who was talking too much about the goings on at the complex, has disappeared.

Husk and Bowen meet up with Connie Pierce, played by Sarah Haggeman, who tells them enough that they were able to piece together where they may have gone. Which is when they discover the body.

Soon Bob Mathews, played by Nicholas Hoult and a group of three others from the compound, decide it is time to initiate their plan. They begin with a series of bold daylight bank robberies and armored car heists leaving law enforcement stunned and the public panicked

As the attacks become increasingly violent, FBI agent Husk becomes convinced that the robberies are the work of these fringe group militia that plans to use the loot to finance an armed uprising. Husk and his team, which include FBI agent Joanne Careny, played by Jurnee Smollett, and Bowen, are pulled into the tangled world of white supremacists as they try to stop these fanatics before they can harm anyone else. As the militia builds a war chest, they also increase their tactics, and begin phase two, using explosives to shut down fringe groups that cater to the degenerates littering the streets of their fair city.  Husk pursues the malevolent racist Mathews with abandon.

September 5 Review – A Must See, One of the Year’s Best Films, Riveting

Richard Butler, played by Victor Slezak, is the leader of The Order, and sequesters his people on a compound, hidden from prying eyes, law enforcement, and the curious. Armed guards stand watch, as Husk and Bowen drive through the gates, a Nazi Swastika is displayed on the roof of one of the buildings. Butler, who believes the FBI is a cult, and explains as much to Husk, also explains he has no knowledge of the brazen bank robberies. We find out later, as he meets with Matthews, that he is very much aware and tell him to stop being so bold in his displays as he is drawing too much of the wrong attention.

The Order is a must see! Having the opportunity to screen the film at the AFI Film Festival, The Order is riveting, a captivating true crime thriller. The acting was very impressive, the ensemble delivered electrifying and explosives performances.
