Biden, G7 Reaffirm Central Tenants

The G7 Summit, which met this week in Hiroshima, Japan, and included the leaders of the seven leading economies, reaffirm the central tenants of its organization which meets to share candida views on the challenges faced throughout the world on issues that reverberate across economic and international lines.

The core tenants include issues that effect all peoples, such as Food scarcity, health, climate, nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation of life, and burgeoning issues that include China, and the on-going war in Ukraine, Russia's aggression. The polices discussed and agreed to at the G7, filter down to the next set of global meetings, the G20, and even to the General Assembly meeting held annually in New York City, usually in the fall.

Biden Finally Agrees to Arm Ukraine with F-16's

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who had been invited to the G7 Summit, appeared to make his case once again on continued aid to fight the Russian aggression.

"After months of U.S. insistence that Ukraine did not need F-16s to fight its war with Russia, Washington finally relented to pressure, agreeing not to stop allied nations from sending Kyiv the advanced Western fighter jets it has long desired," The Washington Post reported.

The Department of Defense announced the thirty-eighth draw down of aid to the Ukraine to help fight against the tyranny of Russian aggression. The package which includes training Ukraine pilots in use of the fourth-generation F-16 fighter jets, as well as an additional $375million dollars in military aid.

As the United States actively works with its European allies to strengthen Ukraine's ability to defend itself the decision, according to a statement from President Biden during the G7 conference, assured President Zelensky that "Together, with the entire G7, we have Ukraine's back.  And I promise we're not going anywhere."

DeSantis Expected to Announce Presidential Bid

With Florida Governor Ron DeSantis expected to announce his bid to seek the GOP nomination for President and join the already crowded field of hopefuls, his agenda, borders on conservative common sense and downright shock.

The upcoming cover story from Time Magazine June 12, 2023, issue provides a strong biography and highlights his iron fist legislative governing which are clear that he is party loyal and determined to secure a majority of party loyalists to secure his agenda is passed. No doubt, this same governing style would be challenged if he were elected president and he would meet that challenge with force.

Time Magazine, which clearly sees DeSantis as the GOP nominee, also presents six of his most challenging right-wing legislative victories which, in his state, and many other red states, the new America, which represents a combination of don't ask don't tell, and the states freedom to govern as the constituents of the state determine.

DeSantis and Abortion

Abortion and the availability of guns are national issues that have split public opinion and DeSantis, a Roman Catholic, has led the nation in enacting law that bans abortion after six weeks of pregnancy. This issue will be a divisive issue in the 2024 election and DeSantis' strong opinion could torpedo his oval office trajectory.

"The string of abortion rights successes affirmed a political trend that emerged in August . . .when voters in conservative Kansas rejected an antiabortion amendment similar to the one that was defeated in Kentucky . . .much of the public sees the issue differently — with voters saying abortion should be legal in all or most cases," reported The Washington Post in a November 2022 mid-term election roundup.

The backlash after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade has remained a volatile issue with the American voting public and it is expected to a be a pivotal issue in the 2024 presidential race.

DeSantis and Gun Control

Another hot button issue that Americans from all demographics and socio-economic positions that will be critical in the upcoming election is the position on gun control. With the rise in mass shootings plaguing every neighborhood in American, we the people are looking to leaders to find a solution, find common ground to stop this scourge from killing our sons and daughters.

DeSantis's position on Gun Control is that there is no gun control, a shocking move recently, as the governor just signed the "Constitutional Carry Law," which will delight those who recognize the Constitution's Second Amendment as a gun owning free for all without restriction or restraint.

"The new law will allow anyone who can legally own a gun in Florida to carry one without a permit. It means training and a background check will not be required to carry concealed guns in public. It takes effect July 1," APnews.com reported.

As gun violence continues to increase across the nation, this new law from a presidential hopeful is like a ignoring the symptoms of cancer. A staunch second amendment conservative he somehow envisions this freedom as original framer language, this obviously is the crux of every argument on the second amendment, what exactly did the framers envision.

It seems, even in the most logical sense, that the imagination for the framers who had limited exposure to advanced weaponry could envision a modified magazine that fires 100 rounds a minute to be freely available to every person without thought or concern over their mental health, their use, when in fact the constitution is very clear, Second Amendment, The Right to Bear Arms states two equal ideas, the first "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State," and the second idea, "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

The second amendment is very clear, an advanced military is important, and the right to bear arms needs to be controlled. Should DeSantis be elected federal law may reflect the current laws enacted by Florida Governor DeSantis, the worst of which is a skewed interpretation of the Second Amendment.

DeSantis Battles Disney Flexing Presidential Muscles

DeSantis has politicized nearly every national issue as the expected announcement of his intent to seek the Republican nomination for the 2024 Presidential race. His recent battle with the formidable CEO of the Walt Disney Company Bob Iger and the progressive agenda they represent resulted in what can be seen and touted as a victory for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

He has also picked up the mantle for accused subway killer Daniel Penny, calling the former marine a "Good Samaritan" on the micro messaging platform twitter, "We must defeat the Soros-Funded DAs, stop the Left's pro-criminal agenda, and take back the streets for law abiding citizens. We stand with Good Samaritans like Daniel Penny. Let's show this Marine... America's got his back."

Mr. DeSantis for surfing the wave of support for Daniel Penny and using it to further your presidential campaign.

Texas Mass Shooting: 14 Children, 1 Educator Dead, 14 Others Injured

Uvalde Mass Shooting One Year Later

It has been one years since the nation was horrified at the images coming out of a small town of Uvalde, Texas, a well-armed militia of local, state, and federal officers circling the parameter while a lone gunman had walked into the Rob Elementary School and proceeded to systematically execute 19 students and two educators.

If that was not shocking enough, Americans were then fed a narrative that left them facing a double shock. Not only were there multiple 911 calls from inside the classroom as the student, on the last day of school, begged for police to help them, but the casualness of the officer in charge, Pete Arredondo, who assumed control of the scene and then failed to breech the classroom.

"The Texas police chief blamed for the disastrous response to the Uvalde school shooting admitted making the "horrible" call not to rescue kids trapped with the gunman — even after hearing "a lot" of shots and the killer reloading," The New York Post reported.

The images from the aftermath, one year later, are shocking, as photos have been released showing children howling in agony as they leave the classroom, children covered in their own blood and the blood of their classmates as they resorted to combat survival methods to stay alive where the incompetency of the officer in charge police, who blames his hesitancy on "training" waited in the hallway for 70 minutes debating what they should do.

The Hypocrisy of The Mourners of Jordan Neely

New Yorker's gathered to remember the life of subway murder victim Jordan Neely and to demand justice for his death. Civil Rights leader Al Sharpton took center stage, and the mourners responded to the eloquent words, as many have demanded Neely's death not be in vain and yet, not one of these individuals who have attached themselves to the postmortem wave of sympathy were around when Neely needed help.

His last words before his death expressed his exasperation for the system, his situation, and yet even as he appeared of the Top 50 of most in need New Yorker's no one was there. Al Sharpton had never heard his name; many of the "anything for a cause" protestors were not there, and if they saw him on the subway would have done the exact same thing as always, turned away, murmuring about yet another homeless black man, who may or may not be dangerous, aggressively panhandling on the subway.

Brooklyn Subway Terror: 28 Injured and Shot, Undetonated Devices Found

Don't bring me your tears for his life now. Now is easy, now, after his death support is simple. Bring the effort pre-death, bring the effort to address the mental health plague that drives homeless into the subways, that creates situations of fear, danger to both those in need and the millions who use mass transit daily.

Shame on you Mr. Sharpton for using Mr. Neeley's death for the free media attention as your image, the standard bearer for the downtrodden, has been broadcast around the world. Sincere words are cheap postmortem; they are expensive, and challenging, and difficult and even distasteful pre-mortem, as he then would have represented another homeless "brother" a blight on the African American race who is destroying the trajectory of African American men.

Sharpton's words at the funeral equates a oneness to all African American's, we're all in this, collectively he said. And every agency involved in supporting and monitoring Neeley failed. The failures in this case rest not one man, but a system who has turned its back on those who need care the most. That is where the fault lies. It's not the fault of one man but the fault of a system, a system that could be fixed.
