stARTup Art Fair San Francisco Takes Over Hotel Del Sol For Third Annual Art Fair

AddThis Social Bookmark Button

The 2017 stARTup Art Fair San Francisco takes over Hotel Del Sol this weekend and brings together one of the most talked about, and avant-garde Art Fairs in the country matched only by those in Los Angeles and Chicago.

Social practice artist and creative interventionist, Hunter Franks will be writing prescriptions for the media's fears. Step up to the booth, share your fear and receive a philosophical prescription from the artist.

Street artist duo t.w.five will be on hand to walk you through the immersive entry installation they're creating specifically for the fair.  Attendees will literally walk on art as they enter the fair with both North and South sidewalks covered in t.w.five's signature hand cut vinyl.

In room 301 Jon Fisher will present Turntable Drawing Twenty, an immersive sound installation of handmade records. You are invited to play records or simply explore the space as the sound unfolds.

The project investigates the tactile properties of sound as physical imprint of an original source. The project is funded by the San Francisco Arts Commission.

Independent artist fair mirrors shift in the art market creating direct access between consumer and artist. In its third year, the fair continues to provide exhibition opportunities for traditionally marginalized populations in the art world as evidenced by 3:1 female to male exhibitor ratio.
