According to Gallup, President Trump's job approval, which was tracked for the month of February ending on March 10, 2019 decreased four percentage points to 39% of those polled who approve of his effectiveness as President and those who disapprove of his effectiveness as President increased by three percentage points to 57%. Ratings are calculated monthly.

Trump/Immigration

Speaking from Calexico, California, Trump along with Department of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen, (who has tendered her resignation at 4pm Sunday, 040719), House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Director for Field Operations for the San Diego Field Office, Pete Flores, whose agency of record handles all the California/Mexico ports of entry along with air and sea ports in San Diego, California Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez, National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd.

As well as law enforcement Chief Patrol Agent of the El Centro Sector, Gloria Chavez, Kern County California Sherriff Donny Youngblood (who has made his share of controversial statements on the subject of suspects and cost effectiveness), Pinal County, Arizona Sherriff Mark Lamb, Pima County, Arizona Sherriff, Mark Napier.

President Trump used this day to introduce his new wall. With the Congressional stalemate over and the first $3.6 billion of an expected $5billion dollar price tag allocated from Military installation project, the Wall, which is a source of great pride to the President.

His guests, all in charge of frontlines security, each spoke on the necessity of the Wall and an increased presence in border security.

Agent Chavez was the first to speak, "This is a 30-foot border wall made of pillar-bollards that you can see through it.  It's a huge advantage to see the adversary on the other side.  We couldn't see the threat.  We would get items thrown at us every day including rocks.  With this 30-foot wall, we haven't had those type of incidents. In these two miles, our assaults have dropped by 65 percent. That's very important to me I don't want our agents hurt.  I want them protecting the country and doing their job.  In these two miles, illegal entries alone have dropped by 75 percent."

Kern County California Sherriff Donny Youngblood, who was caught on tape explaining it is fiscally more effective to kill suspects than to keep them alive, was also present and said, "We feel this impact from 400 miles away.  Each of us have experienced heinous crimes that are committed by people in our country illegally.  And I just want to take this opportunity to thank this President for doing the right thing and standing up for law enforcement in this country."

Pima County, Arizona Sherriff, Mark Napier, also addressed reporters, "I'm the sheriff for Pima County, Arizona the largest border county in the United States.  The strategic deployment of physical barriers along our southern border will always be part of the picture of border security, which is absolutely fundamentally necessary for humanitarian reasons, public safety reasons, and also for national security reasons. Anyone who would suggest that we do not have a crisis on our southern border is being intellectually dishonest to the point of being dishonest with malice.  We have a humanitarian crisis, a compelling crisis of public safety with human trafficking, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, coming up through the border."

Napier also explained he and his deputies recover about 100 bodies a year, those who die in the crossing, and monthly the intercepted "58 pounds of methamphetamine just the other day, and last month, 13,000 fentanyl pills."

The Opioid crisis may not affect many on a first person basis, and for many it is first person, it is a son, a daughter, a husband, a wife, a name with a face, a life that once held promise. Each generation has seen a drug crisis, the cocaine/crack crisis destroyed an entire swath of the population. Heroin and Opioids are this generations crisis.

With ports of entry that see nearly 80 million travelers annually and $50billion worth of trade, Director for Field Operations for the San Diego Field Office, Pete Flores, said, "So the additional investment in officers, the additional investment in technology, in II equipment, our x-ray equipment, and what we have — our ability to scan, screen, and inspect is a tremendous investment in how we do business on the border and securing our border, as well as allowing for the facilitation of legitimate trade and travel."

Closed Borders or Tariff's

President Trump backed down from his decision to close the border over this past week and was asked if had changed his mind over the course of action. Mexico, the president believes has taken his seriously and at his word.

"I may shut it down at some point, but I'd rather do tariffs.  Mexico has been very good over the last four days, since I talked about shutting the border. If they continue that, everything will be fine.  If they don't, we're going to tariff their cars at 25 percent coming into the United States.  Every time they make a car, it's a 25 percent tariff.  We probably bring those car companies back into the United States. But if it doesn't work — which it will, 100 percent — the tariffs will work.  If it doesn't, I will close the border."

Bureau of Labor Statistics

After a sharp drop in February and an expected belief of limited recovery, the economy and American employers, added 195,000 jobs in March which not only exceeds expectations but surpasses conservative expectations of those prognosticators who are not directly involved with the White House blustering machine.

Even as President Trump would like the American voting population to believe he alone is responsible for the boom economy, the Bureau of Labor Statistics explained in the monthly report, "Total nonfarm payroll employment in March rose by 196,000 jobs (see figure), beating market expectations (175,000). The month of March continued the longest streak of growth on record (102 months).

The economy has seen record, monthly growth for more than 100 months, 7.5 years, well into former President's Obama's tenure.

Brexit Breaks The House

Brexit and the repeated failures of lawmakers to come together and find common ground has all but broken the political system, leaving Parliament fractured, splintered and in a position of losing credibility with the European Union.

Recent remarks coming from Brussels by European Union leaders' members indicate a longer "delay" could and most likely should be the newest consideration. The intricacies, details, and complexities of essentially moving all working parts of government and a multi-national country to independence was not considered at the time of the initial referendum.

Many thought a simple severing of ties would be the case and even those who had some idea, had no real idea the pushback they would be experiencing.

Many are calling for Prime Minister Theresa May's resignation, and she has tendered it in exchange for passage of the negotiated deal. For those forward-thinking politicians, the idea of a majority acceptance of the current tabled plan, an additional extension of Article 50, which the EU Chief negotiator has said, a delay of up to five years is not outside the current EU scope.

Any longer delay is the best course of action for the MP's who are maneuvering for position and using Brexit as leverage for a political future.

Replace chaos with calm, vote on the extended delay and dissect the deal and vote piece by piece.

Paris Explodes

After a record 21 straight weekends of protest throughout France the Yellow Vest demonstrations, which have become increasingly volatile, directed at the aristocrats and demanding the ouster of French President Emmanuel Macron, increased the violence in Paris, the nation's capital.

An explosion in the 19th Arrondissement which erupted in a fireball was photographed and posted on Twitter. No information has been released on injuries. The explosion capped another weekend of violent protests in which protesters gathered in Paris and surrounding region demanding a referendum to allow the people to have a say in government. Paris remains on lockdown.

Madeleine McCain Found?

The Express, equivalent to the Daily News or New York Post, has reported Madeleine McCann, the British toddler who disappeared while vacationing with her parents in Praia da Luz, Portugal in May 2007, may have been found. (Read the article here)

The disappearance of three-year-old Maddie, a dozen years ago, galvanized the EU as her parents, Kate and Gerry, frantically searched for the missing child who disappeared from her bed, while they were at dinner. They have remained vigilant in their efforts to find their daughter.

A young woman, given the name "Maria" by locals in Rome has been photographed and her image sent to agencies around the world as she bears uncanny similarities to an age enhanced photography of Madeleine. The women, speaks English, no Italian or limited Italian, is photographed wearing old clothes with dishwater blonde/light brown hair. She has no passport or other identifying papers. She has refused money from the locals. She has not approached the UK or US embassy and appears not to know her name or other memories.

Netflix released a series titled, "The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann" which was met with immediate pushback from the couple who released a following statement.

"A statement on behalf of the couple argues that the show could hinder police investigations. It reads: "'We did not see – and still do not see – how this programme will help the search for Madeleine and, particularly given there is an active police investigation, it could potentially hinder it. "'Consequently, our views and preferences are not reflected in the programme. "'We will not be making any further statements or giving interviews regarding this programme."' The Express

Election 2020 - Candidates Ramp Up the 2020 Election Machine

Frontrunners undeclared candidate Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders have found themselves pitted on opposites sides of the line this week as the former Vice-President who is considered the man to beat has been outed for his touchy-feely ways.

The four women who have stepped forward have all agreed wasn't sexual as much as inappropriate. The former VP has also gone on the offense indicating in a video message he understood and possibly he did. Attempting to control the situation, getting in front of the damage and driving the narrative is classic crisis communications and Biden needs to be an exemplary campaigner. Shaking hands and kissing only the babies, not the babes.

The issue appears to be far from over as one woman, D.J. Hill, seems intent on pushing a point that has no conclusion. The behavior, if it were coming from anyone other than former Vice-President Joe Biden, would be described as a dirty old man looking to cop a feel.

Each of the stories have one single through line, and that is the women were uncomfortable with the level of intimacies with the action. Space boundaries have clearly evolved, and many have not. Perhaps Biden is one of those who take shaking hand and kissing babies as part of his job description and crosses the line without knowing, possibly caught up in the excitement of the rally or the public support.

Saturday Night Live, which has seen a resurgence in ratings throughout the Trump presidency, opened with a skit lampooning the former VP's issues. The issue appears to be one that will continue to dog the potential democratic nominee.

Census 2020 California Count

2020 also marks the year of the census, the numerical count of the population that occurs every ten years in America. The census provides information that effects every area of life in the United States, it determines the redistricting of neighborhoods, it adds or subtracts representation in Washington, and determines funding.

Over the next year additional messaging from #Census2020 will be seen throughout the United States as the agency gears up for its largest count in history of Census taking.

California is gearing up to ensure every person is counted. Messaging will begin to appear encouraging all to participate. It's fast, easy and important. The exactness of the Census ensures increased representation in Washington, federal funding, more monies for schools and local communities.
