Jubilate! 42nd Street Moon’s 25th Anniversary Gala

San Francisco's 42nd Street Moon (Daren A.C. Carollo, Daniel Thomas, Co-Executive Directors), celebrating its 25th Anniversary in continuous operation, has announced the company's 2018 Gala, JUBILATE!, will be headlined by Moon favorite Klea Blackhurst and will feature special guest star Liz Callaway.

The gala, celebrating 42nd Street Moon's landmark 25th Anniversary, will be held at the Palace of Fine Arts on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. The festivities will commence at 6:00 p.m.with arrivals and aperitifs, followed at 7:00 p.m. with dinner and an auction. At 8:00 p.m., the Gala Performance will begin in the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre.

The evening will conclude with dessert and afterglow at 9:15 p.m. All funds raised by the evening's events will benefit Moon's Capital Campaign to renovate the Gateway Theatre, as well as the expansion of MoonSchool's education and outreach programs, which share the joy and magic of live theatre with hundreds of schoolchildren each year. Klea Blackhurst has delighted 42nd Street Moon audiences as "Nails O'Reilly Duquesne " in RED, HOT AND BLUE and "Sally Adams" inCALL ME MADAM. She is best known for EVERYTHING THE TRAFFIC WILL ALLOW, her tribute to Ethel Merman that debuted in New York in 2001. Among many accolades, this production earned her the inaugural Special Achievement Award from Time Out New York magazine. The recording of EVERYTHING THE TRAFFIC WILL ALLOW was named one of the top ten show albums of 2002 by Talkin' Broadway.com. She recently starred in The Goodspeed Opera's 50th Anniversary production of HELLO, DOLLY!. Liz Callaway is a Tony nominee and Emmy Award-winning actress, singer and recording artist. Ms. Callaway has also established a major career as a concert and recording artist. She had the pleasure of singing "Chances Are" with singing legend Johnny Mathis, co-starred with Jimmy Webb & Paul Williams in their critically acclaimed engagement at Feinstein's in New York and joined Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick, and Stevie Wonder at Hal David's 90th Birthday Celebration Concert at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. Her extensive US symphony work includes appearances at The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Ravinia, and The Hollywood Bowl. Worldwide, she has performed in China, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Iceland, Estonia, France, South Korea, and Barcelona.

Liz sang the Academy Award nominated song "Journey to the Past" in the animated feature Anastasia and is also the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in Disney's Aladdin and the King of Thieves and The Return of Jafar. Other film work includes the singing voice of the title character in The Swan Princess, The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, Beauty and the Beast, Lyle, Lyle the Crocodile and The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars.
 

She received an Emmy Award for hosting "Ready to Go," a daily, live children's program on CBS in Boston. Other TV credits include "In Performance at the White House," "Inside the Actor's Studio: Stephen Sondheim," "Christmas with the Boston Pops," "The David Letterman Show," and "Senior Trip" (CBS Movie of the Week).
