The classes are priced at $55 per person and is offered daily in February and can be booked through your Personal Assistant.

•“Romancing the Moon” – Capella’s award-winning Auriga spa which bases it treatments on the lunar cycle will offer a “Romantic Moon Experience” in February combining specific techniques, products and scents to create a unique experience specific to these energies. •“Festival of Trees (entire month of February)” – Capella Pedregal “lights-up” this February to celebrate love and romance with installations being placed around the resort alluding to the power of love. Torote trees around grounds will be decorated in a myriad of delightful ornaments crafted by artisans from around Mexico. Handmade clay hearts by Robert Tirado who is also responsible for many of the striking sculptures and statues throughout the resort will be on display – these specially crafted “corazones colgantes” or “hanging hearts” are a sight to behold and were crafted and painted by the artist in his Lake Chapala, Jalisco studio.

Multi-colored hand blown glass hearts by artisans in Guadalajara will adorn trees around the property – these inspiring pieces are crafted from recycled bottles. Of special note are the hearts with “multicolored dots.” These particular glass hearts are first crafted out of clear glass and then the artisans attach small pieces of melted colored glass to create a “confetti” look. Foil ornaments also add to the festivities with the trees located outside the AlmArte boutique decorated in these striking hand cut pieces, while a “lumiere tree” featuring egg shaped ornaments that are lighted from within will shine brightly in the evenings. The “lumiere tree” is a concept by the resort’s designer, Paul Duesing and crafted by Mexican ceramicist, Noe Suro.

The artisans of Guadalajara have also created metal-based star cut-outs that adorn the resort’s foliage and also the patio outside Don Manuel’s, the resort’s fine dining restaurant.

Maria Rosario Mendoza, an award-winning artist and designer has created special tree ornaments for Capella Pedregal including items that reflect the design of costumes she originally created for the XVI American Games opening ceremony for which she was awarded an Emmy for costume design. Mendoza creates special ornaments annually for the resort and her passion for showcasing the artistry of Mexico’s rich tapestry of culture is also reflected in the uniforms she designed for the staff at Capella Pedregal.

The staff at Capella Pedregal each year creates their very own ornaments as well with a special theme chosen each year – this year’s theme is “stars” which is the emblem of Capella Hotels and Resorts. The stars were selected this year to honor the team of “superstars” that work at the resort to who excel each day in assisting guests with their stay. These special ornaments will be placed on the trees at the arrival area.
