Russian Cannibal Couple Arrested; Suspected of Killing, Dismembering and Eating at Least 30 (Graphic Video)

A married Russian couple have been arrested after grisly pictures were discovered on a missing cell phone which showed the man with a bloodied severed hand in his mouth and several severed heads in the background.

Dmitry Baksheeva, 35, and his wife, Natalia, 42, a construction worker and former nurse, have been arrested on suspicion of murder, dismemberment and cannibalism, along with various other charges.

Baksheeva, when pressed during the interrogation, admitted he and his wife had practiced cannibalism for more than twenty years.

Video's and recipes for preparing tasty human meat were discovered during a search of the couple, military academy apartment.

Russian authorities have not commented on the gruesome crime, which dates back to the late 1990's

The couple's apartment, as shown in a video, by many media agencies was extremely messy, with boxes strewn about with the look of a hoarder's home, as drawers were overflowing, book shelves were void of trinkets, books or pictures, with each shelf filled with layers of papers,  boxes and loose papers  barely allowed the floor to be visible, the bed was completely covered with stuff, an iron sat on the window ledge.

Body parts were found in the couple apartment find cans containing a salty solution and "meat" parts, which they are now verifying over whether they are human, according to RT.com, the English-Russian News magazine.

If it hadn't been for the lost cell phone they often used to photograph various stages of their crimes being lost and found on the street by a passing construction worker who flipped through gruesome photos and turned the phone into police, the couple could have continued their crimes indefinitely.  The police traced the SIM card to the Baksheeva. He was arrested.

The photos, which led to the discovery of even more parts, are of the recent murder of a female, authorities have said.

No official statement has been released by local police, although media have reported the couple have admitted to the crimes and they have been charged.

Krasnodar is located in South-west Russia.
