Prime Minster Theresa May put on a brave face as she addressed the media after the snap vote delivered a shocking surprise that now has pundits on both sides of the pond debating the effectiveness of Britain’s first female Prime Minster.

The elections, which like the Brexit vote where power plays by the sitting Prime Ministers to affirm the position and direction and both went sharply and grossly wrong and in the case of Brexit cause an early resignation from former Prime inter David Cameron, May’s predecessor.

May a member of the Tory or Conservative party, until weeks ago was leading her nearest challenger, Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour party leader, by double digits and saw that lead evaporate over the last two weeks leading up to the election due, impart, to the recent twin terror attacks in Manchester and in London.

Prime Minster May and Labour Party Leader Corbyn catapulted to the forefront of the United Kingdom’s recent political scene since the Brexit Stay or Leave Campaign. With more at stake than simply retaining the title May was expected win the confidence of the people and more important retain a strong majority in parliament.

What was expected to be a decisive victory nearly became a stunning defeat as now, nearly a day since the will of the people amazed, shocked, and dazed, the Prime Minster and fairly everyone across the board was quite surprised at the results.

With all seat in Parliament declared the results cut deep into the majority and inner circle May, which often brought much criticism upon her, held. Of the 650 Seats: The Conservative Party lead of Theresa May took 318 seats or 48.9%; Jeremy Corbyn leader of the Labour Party took 262 seats or 40.3%; the Scottish National party leader by Nicola Sturgeon won 35 seats for 5.4%; Tim Farron leader of the Liberal Democrat Party won 12 seats for 1.8% and the Democratic Unionist Party lead by Arlene Foster won 10 seats for 1.5% of the vote.

Like any hard-won boardroom takeover May faces the difficult task of gathering the fringe parties to remain loyal to her while she fends off the hostile attempts to force her resignation.

With seven votes short of a majority win, Mrs. May’s Conservative Party with 318 seats is now in the minority and is left to build alliances, or reach across the aisle as it were, to move the nation ahead and as the people have voted the nation on a new path.

The Brexit talks which begin shortly, are already unraveling as the truth of the United Kingdom exit will exact upon the British people and for the European Union. The struggles from within and those from outside are causing great angst at Parliament and especially for those seeking to have May resign from 10 Downing Street creating the need for another election.

One may think, long and hard on another snap or straw election as the last two couldn’t have gone further from the projected outcomes by pundits, pollsters, and researchers.

What it appears is that Parliament will be facing a unique situation as the current Prime Minster will need to maintain an open government working with others who may see the nations, future heading in slightly different directions and in order to improve the quality of life, mange the external issues and deal directly with Terrorism, the number one issue facing the people of the United Kingdom, as well as myriad of social reforms, the upcoming {at some point} monarchy change, Brexit, ideas, from all sides will become the rule of the day. Which may be just the needed element to usher in greater prosperity for all the people.
