Driver in Deadly Windsor Hills Los Angeles Crash Charged

Nicole L. Linton, a registered nurse from Texas, was charged with six counts of murder stemming from the August 4 multi-vehicle crash in Windsor Hills that killed a pregnant woman, her toddler son, unborn baby, and others.

The horrific video shows Linton, 37, traveling at a high rate of speed, which has been estimated at 90mph, through a red light, and plowing into the congested intersection of La Brea and Slauson Avenues. The below surveillance video shows she did not even tap the brakes or attempt to stop.

At the moment the Mercedes-Benz sedan struck the two vehicles they burst into flames. The force of the crash, sent the two vehicles that were impacted directly into each other and into a pole, splitting them in half, killing the occupants instantly. The toddler son was ejected, still in his car seat, and landed near the gas pumps some 40 feet from the crash scene. The scene resembled a car bomb explosion splitting the vehicles and sending debris flying.

Linton, who had been in Los Angeles employed as a traveling nurse for Kaiser Permanente, has a history of traffic accidents in her hometown of Houston.

Linton, "has been involved in 13 other wrecks, the Los Angeles Times reported. Prosecutors said the previous crashes include a 2020 injury accident that left two cars totaled, and that Linton allegedly knew the danger she posed behind the wheel, the paper reported," reported The New York Post.

The bodies of two of the victims, Lynette Noble, 38 and Natasha Lewis, 43, both of Los Angeles, were burned beyond recognition and their identities were unknown until today. Also killed in the fiery crash were Asherey Ryan, 23, who was 8 and ½ months pregnant an on her way to her final prenatal appointment, her fiancé, Reynold Lester, and her 11-month-old son, Allonzo.

Cold Case Murder Solved after 50 Years

Linton has been charged with six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter. The law prohibits Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon from filing a sixth vehicular manslaughter charge, on behalf of the unborn child.

"One of Linton's attorneys, Halim Dhanidina, told the judge that the defense is conducting an investigation into "mental health issues,'' and said he didn't believe there was anything to justify treating Linton's case equivalent to a capital murder case. He said she could reasonably post $300,000 bail. Linton could face up to 90 years to life in state prison if convicted as charged, according to Gascón," NBCLosAngeles.com reported.
