Breaking: Former Trump Campaign Manager Indicted on Conspiracy Against United States

Paul Manafort, the former campaign manager and business associate for President Donald J. Trump, has been indicted in a 12 count indictment that a federal grand jury returned Friday and ordered sealed by a federal judge.

"The indictment contains 12 counts: conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts," the counsel said in a statement, Reuters reported.

The Investigation led by former FBI Director Robert Mueller has slowly been presenting evidence before an impaneled grand jury to determine the possibility of collusion by the President or members of his team, family or associate which were a mitigating factor in his stunning and shocking election victory one year ago.

The President in response has posted a series of Tweets (@realdonaldtrump) vilifying his former opponent Democratic presidential candidate Hillary R. Clinton, and the former Administration for misuse of funds, and indicating the Republican Senate and congress is rallying to support him and his new government.

Mueller was hired to lead the investigation after President Trump fired former FBI Director James R. Comey because his investigation into the allegation of collusion with Russia  was gaining ground and penetrating an already shaky White House.

Paul Manafort has been ordered to surrender and if he refuses an warrant will be issues for his arrest and he will be taken into custody.

The White House has categorically denied involvement and deemed the investigation "a witch hunt." Sources, according to Reuters, from the Kremlin have also denied the allegations.

Michael A. Flynn, former Army General, Trump Advisor and National Security Advisor, known to have received money from Russian Associates for speaking fees and other engagements, has also been a target of Mueller's investigation. He was terminated by President Trump for misleading Vice President Pence regarding his involvement with the Russians.

Op/Ed: Is it Really Our Job to Save the Addict?

Mueller, aided by the recent indictment, should be able to exercise greater reach in his investigation into the real Donald Trump.
