Two Majors Cities Hit With Mass Shooting Scares in One Day

Three days after a TSA agent was killed at LAX during a Mass Shooting, the Westfield Garden State Mall in Paramus, New Jersey and Central Connecticut State University Campus were both targeted by deranged individuals.

At approximately, name the time, Monday, a seek shelter warning was issued on the Central Connecticut State Campus as multiple people call 911 reporting a suspicious person with a gun seen on campus.

Fifteen minutes later, the warning was upgraded to “Shelter in Place” as swarms of heavily armed Police, SWAT, local and state police converged on the campus.

University officials issued a high warning telling students and faculty to stay indoors seek shelter, barricade themselves inside classrooms until further notice.

Officials used the campus email alerts to update the concerned community as students took to social media updating worried, friends, parents, colleagues and loved ones.

After three hours, police lifted the shelter in place order.  A single person, dressed in camouflage, was arrested without incident. No shots were fired.

The name of the individual was not released. No details other than he was of student age have been provided.

Central Connecticut State University campus is located 40miles north of Newtown, Connecticut.

Westfield Garden State Mall, in Paramus, New Jersey, was the scene of the second attempted mass shooting when Richard Shoop, 20 entered the mall armed with a rifle.

Panicked shoppers alerted police at approximately, 9:30pm (EST), when Shoop entered New Jersey’s largest shopping center, and fired at least one shot.

Witness indicated Shoop was dressed in all black and was wearing a mask.  The weapon was not concealed and even as detectives report only a single shot, eyewitnesses indicate he was walking slowly toward them firing, contradicting police reports. Later reports at least 20 rounds were discharged confirming eyewitnesses accounts.

Shoop was found dead at approximately 3:20am (EST) in a construction area inside the shopping complex. A suicide note was found at his home in Teaneck, NJ. No additional details have been released.

As in the Los Angeles International Airport shooting within minutes a heavy deployment o f all law enforcement assets were on the scene. The Garden State Mall will reopen Wednesday.

As in the LAX shooting if numbers were at the forefront of the shooter’s plan the mass casualty gun violence tally over one weekend would have jumped considerably.

Neither of these individuals were looking for numbers or chasing records. Thankfully.
