Biden Holds Narrow Lead in 2020 Presidential Race; Calls for Every Vote to Be Counted

Democratic Presidential challenger Joe Biden has secured a narrow lead in the 2020 Presidential election, holding on through the night, and could secure the necessary 270 electoral votes with the call on three states where he leads.

Calling for every vote to be counted, Biden acknowledged the race is still to close to call, He went into the night with a narrow lead after securing the Western wall states and flipping Republican stronghold Arizona. Taking the Northeast and Virginia, it became a race for the upper mid-west states.

At 9:00am EST November 4, Biden had not yet been declared the winner by the Associated Press. His electoral tally edged the incumbent, President Donald Trump, by twenty electoral votes, with six states not yet called.

Projecting winners based on the leanings slot Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania to the President bringing his electoral college count to 268. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell handily won his reelection bid and will maintain his position as Senate Republican leader. Another highly contested race in South Carolina, ended with incumbent Lindsay Graham maintaining his senate seat by 300,000 votes against African American Jamie Harrison.

The Senate will maintain control of the Senate with 47 seats to 45 democratic seats. Georgia will face a run-off in January to determine which candidate, either Republican David Perdue or Democrat Jon Ossoff, will represent the state.

Democrats maintained control of the House of Representatives. House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi is expected to return to her position.

The Associated Press has yet to call 63 seats. To control the House the democrats, who have secured 189 seats, would need to secure 29 of those 63 seats. House Republican, who have secured 183 seats, would need to secure 35 of the 63 seats to win a majority.
