Election 2020: Bernie Sanders to Return to California Ahead of Super Tuesday

Sen. Bernie Sanders will return to California on Sunday, March 1st, for rallies in San Jose and Los Angeles ahead of Super Tuesday. Bernie 2020 staffers will be on hand at both rallies to collect vote-by-mail ballots.

The San Jose rally will feature special guest Eve Ensler and performances by Jack Johnson, Las Cafeteras, and Joyce Manor. The Los Angeles rally will include special guests Dick Van Dyke, Sarah Silverman, and Patrisse Cullors and will feature performances by Latin Grammy award-winning artist Ana Tijoux and Public Enemy Radio.

"The time is now to ask: which side are you on? I am on the side of working people who can't afford to wait for change any longer," said Chuck D. "That's why I support Bernie."

The Sanders campaign announced the Public Enemy Radio show with an exclusive poster, designed by artist Kii Arens in collaboration with Bernie 2020.

Bernie 2020 has seen an outpouring of support in the Golden State -- particularly among young and Latino voters. The California campaign has built an unmatched organizing machine in California, with 105 paid staffers and 23 offices open across the state. To date, the Bernie 2020 California team has already knocked on more than 1 million doors, made more than 5 million phone calls to California voters, and received more than 165 endorsements from elected officials.

The campaign has also made a concerted effort to turn out the vote in California, and ensure that every eligible American citizen casts their ballot in the March 3rd primary election, making an unparalleled effort to engage the nearly 5.5 million No Party Preference voters who live in the Golden State.

All Sanders campaign volunteers in the state are trained to help NPP voters easily cast their ballots; call scripts for phonebanks and trainings for canvasses both include extensive language to help voters navigate the process.

The Sanders campaign has also established a hotline — 818-856-5083 — for California voters to call in with questions about casting their ballots.
