Carson, Fiorina Announce Presidential Bid; Huckabee Expected; Bush Possible

Ben Carson, retired Pediatric Neurosurgeon, and Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett Packard, coming off strong showings in Republican Leadership Summit have each announced their intent to seek the presidential nomination for the Republican Party.

Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas Governor and Fox News Commentator, is expected to announce his intention to run for the 2016 GOP party nomination. This will be Huckabee’s second presidential run, having previously run out of campaign funding. Huckabee began the 2008 primary season with a strong showing winning the Iowa Caucuses, and refusing to dissolve into petty and trivial arguments and internal squabbling during televised debates before financial troubles hamstringed his efforts and sidelined the campaign.

The three will join already declared candidates Senator Marco Rubio, of Florida, and Senator Ted Cruz, of Texas, who have each been on the campaign trail for nearly one month.

The contenders in addition to defining themselves, face a tough choice as the Democratic Party seems solid, focused, determined and satisfied with Hillary Clinton as the presumed democratic presidential candidate.

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, son and brother of two former Presidents, also a republican. Although expected, he has yet to announce his run for the party’s nomination.
