"Tonight, we celebrate the enduring alliance between France and United States, a partnership that's marked by so many firsts.  France was our first ally, the first country to fly the American flag after our revolution.   And France hosted the first diplomatic posts.  Before — more than anything else, France has been our first friend. Today, we're still united by the greatest causes: democracy, liberty, equality, opportunity, and freedom.  We stand together against oppression and injustice," President Biden said.

Russian Gas Cap

The G7 and Australia has ratified a price cap of $60.00 a barrel for Russian crude oil, limited Putin's main source of revenue for his continued war with Ukraine. Poland and the Baltic state had proposed a $30.00 per barrel cap, which would have cut deeply into the Kremlin's war chest.

Even with the cuts Russia will receive nearly $100billion from the sale of its oil to countries around the world. As beleaguered Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has continued to call for increased global sanctions against Russia and its shrinking allies, which will continue to compress the Russian economy, as they have disrupted the global economy.

"This money, Zelenskyy believes, will be channeled "not only to the war and not only to Russia's further sponsoring of other terrorist regimes and organizations. This money will also be used to further destabilize precisely those countries that are now trying to avoid big decisions," he said," reported Politico.

NY AG Covers Sex Harassment Allegations by Top Aide

New York Attorney General Letitia James is under fire for hiding the sexual harassment allegation of her Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Khan, who recently resigned after a pattern of sexual misconduct allegations from unwanted touching, kissing to drugging and rape, surfaced.

Justice Watch: And They Got Away With It (Part 4)

"The accusations against Mr. Khan, who began working for Ms. James as spokesman for her campaign for New York City public advocate in 2013 and then, after she took office, as her chief of staff, were particularly sensitive for Ms. James, who oversaw a 2021 sexual harassment inquiry of New York's governor at the time, Andrew M. Cuomo," reported The New York Times.

Mr. Khan has issued a statement indicating he was leaving the AG's office at the end of her first term for the private sector. He has tenured his resignation.

The fact that the AG would continue to consider this person a valuable and trusted member of her staff, someone who is the closest of all her aides, knowing these egregious and criminal allegations lurk just underneath the surface, and are ingrained in his belief system, brings serious questions on her judgment.

The shadow of these actions and public perception presents more than a hint of impropriety; a clear double standard has surfaced, misuse of power and poor judgement to allow anyone with systemic allegations of sexual misconduct, forcible touching, unwanted advances, and rape to continue in her employ is disservice to her office, and the people of New York.

"Allegations of sexual impropriety by Mr. Khan have surfaced publicly before. In 2017, when Ms. James was the city's public advocate and he was her chief of staff, The New York Post reported that a former employee of the office had accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting her at a holiday party," reported The New York Times.

Attorney sexual misconduct, from unwanted comments of bodily appearance to known knowledge of rape is rampant in the New York legal community, and with a precedent of failure to prosecute, victims primarily women, are confronted with two choices, silence, or career assassination and all the covert actions, including violations of privacy, that are used to place a stranglehold on victims. For the rapist and sexual predator failure to prosecute is clear blatant abuse of the law and by evidence considered permissible.

To quote the attorney general in her determination to oust then Governor Andrew Cuomo, "No man — no matter how powerful — can be allowed to harass women," while this statement rings of a determination to rid all communities of this vile and predatorial behavior the fact remains that she was protecting her Chief of Staff.

The office of the New York Attorney General, over the past 22 years, has seen a turnstile of AG's accused of sexual misconduct dating back to former AG and then Governor Eliot Spitzer, who eventually resigned for misconduct while serving as the Attorney General, followed by Eric Schneiderman, who also resigned for sexual misconduct, Andrew Cuomo, who eventually became governor and resigned for sexual misconduct.

Apparently, ridding the community depends on what she can gain, and the political possibilities ouster hold and brings into question every decision in her tenure.

Convicted Attorney Michael Avenatti Face More Time in Settlement Scheme

Convicted Celebrity attorney Michael Avenatti is to be sentenced Monday by a U.S. District Judge in Orange County, California on charges he defrauded clients.

Avenatti, who represented himself in the hearings is seeking six years to run concurrent to the five years he is already serving stemming from the scheme to defraud adult film star Stormy Daniels and his Nike corporation extortion scam. Prosecutors are calling for 17.5 years.

"In the sentencing recommendation, federal prosecutors said Avenatti's schemes followed a "general pattern" in which he "would lie about the true terms of the settlement agreement he had negotiated for the client, conceal the settlement payments that the counterparty had made, secretly take and spend the settlement proceeds that belonged to the client, and lull the client into not complaining or investigating further by providing small `advances' on the supposedly yet-to-be-paid funds," reported mynewsLA.com.

Apple Moves Production, Leaves China

The Covid pandemic disruptions have reverberated globally and through every industry and section, no more so than in the technology industry as most of cell phones and other handheld devices are manufactured in China, which has enforced a zero-tolerance policy to Covid infections, resulting in frequent testing followed by extensive quarantine shutdowns resulting in reduction in staff and delayed production.

Additional issues with "cell phone city" a province in Zhengzhow China that has built a city within a city and employs nearly 500,000 workers producing nearly all the world's cell phones.

"In recent weeks, Apple Inc.  has accelerated plans to shift some of its production outside China. . . It is telling suppliers to plan more actively for assembling Apple products elsewhere in Asia, particularly India and Vietnam, they say, and looking to reduce dependence on Taiwanese assemblers led by Foxconn  Technology Group," reported The Wall Street Journal.

Other factors include a boiling over of frustration among the workers over wages leading to violent protests and of course failure to met the global demand for Apple products.

Christine McVie, Songstress of Fleetwood Mac, Dies

Christine McVie, one of the original members of the 1970s rock band Fleetwood Mac died this week, she was 79, although no cause was given, she had told Rolling Stone Magazine she was plagued by health troubles.

One of the original members of the rock band, when Stevie Nicks joined the band, the two immediately became fast friends, which is unusual, and both said over the decades they were more like sisters. The stress of touring along with 1970s and 1980s drug culture, as well as McVie's own issues with flying, and admitted to drinking for self-sedation before flying, took its toll on her health.

"According to a statement from her family, McVie died peacefully in the hospital "following a short illness." She was in the company of her loved ones, who asked "everyone to keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible human being, and revered musician who was loved universally," Newsweek reported.

Mourned throughout the music community, her bandmates, celebrities, musicians, friends, and fans took to social media to pay tribute.
