Chicago: OFFSHORE To Remain Open Following Navy Pier Temporary Closure

Offshore, the world's largest rooftop deck and one of Chicago's hottest destinations located at Navy Pier, will remain open after September 8 offer locals the opportunity to enjoy spectacular views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan.

This year-round rooftop destination, which boasts over 56,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, will open from noon until 9 p.m. every weekday, 11 a.m. until 10:30p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, reservations are available via OpenTable for parties of no more than 6 to keep patrons and staff comfortable and safe. Special events will be hosted throughout September including sunset paint and sips and morning fitness classes with mimosas, with more to be finalized in the coming weeks.

"With safety for our patrons at the utmost importance, we hope to continue to welcome in locals looking for a fun way to socially distance while also enjoying all that Offshore has to offer, with events lined up throughout the month that has something for everyone."

Offshore will continue to ensure the safety of all guests with safety and sanitation standards in place, along with the current additional measures outlined by the City of Chicago. All guests are required to wear masks upon entry and exit, tables will be spaced at least 7 feet apart and indoor tables within eight feet of a window, and all staff will be temperature checked prior to every shift as well as wearing face masks for the protection of customers. 

Culinary direction for Offshore is led by Executive Chef Michael Shrader, a protégé of Jeremiah Tower who is credited as a pioneer in California cuisine. At Offshore, his focus is on seasonal, modern American cuisine with global influences served as small, shareable plates.

New items just added to the menu include Market Fish of the Day, with fingerling potatoes, leeks, oyster mushrooms, and salsa verde; a Smoked Half Chicken, with spicy potatoes, lemon & oregano gremolata; and an 8oz. Filet of Beef, with potato gratin, asparagus, and topped with a red wine sauce.

Clay Livingston, formerly Partner and General Manager of Red Herring Lounge and Kitchen in Louisville, has developed and curated the beverage program seasonally, with playful house made craft cocktails, wine, champagne, and strong local craft beer options to choose from. Signature, Instagrammable drinks include a Catch Me Offshore, with Cruzan spiced rum, Cruzan coconut rum, strawberry, and lime; and a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, a frozen cocktail with whiskey, mango, ginger, and lemon.
