MrWatchMaster Meets…André Clémençon

Next we meet André Clémençon, a self-confessed design enthusiast, passionate tattoo collector and thoroughly convinced Weird Gentleman. We are delighted to share with you his views and thoughts on his latest stunning creations.

André has a life-long involvement with watches and good design: generations of his family were employed in the watch industry, including his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

MrWatchMaster Meets…Leon Leong

MWM: How is business?

AC: Please ask me later this year – we have just launched the brand. So everything is new and exciting. And the pandemic situation does not help. But we are looking forward to all the good things to come and are happy that we have introduced the André Clémençon Watches to the market now.

MWM: What are you currently working on?

AC: In addition to promoting our brand, we are working on finding retailers for our watches and are developing ideas and designs the first limited edition watch together with one of our favourite tattoo artists.

MWM: Tell us something we don't know about André Clémençon Contemporary Watches?

AC: Perhaps, that the idea for men's wristwatches was born about three years ago during long and painful tattoo sessions in a tattoo studio in Kreuzberg, Berlin – the perceived tattoo capital of the world. In an area, where non-tattooed people stand out more than the others!

MWM: Which watch do you wear?

AC: Fortunately (or should I say unfortunately) we have only two different watches so far, each in two colours. So the choice is limited. But of course I wear my own watches. The design is not only made by me, but also for me.

MWM: Which watch would you like to own?

AC: I would like to own a Panerai Luminor Marina Monopulsante. So next time when you have a conversation with the CEO of Panerai, you are welcome to pass on my best wishes to him.

MrWatchMaster Meets . . . An Interview with Antonio Calce

MWM: What do you like best about the Watch business?

AC: The tradition of a beautiful handicraft that is typical for Switzerland and the region, where I grew up. My father and my grandfather were watchmakers, that shapes one.

MWM: What don't you like about the Watch business?

AC: The elitist attitude of some.

MWM: What is next on the horizon for you?

AC: Establishing my brand and collaborate with partners from the fashion, tattoo and style sector.
