Clive Christian Men’s Perfume Review - Seductive, Discriminating, The Ultimate in British Luxury

The British Invasion, once synonymous with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and other musical groups has evolved into the recent obsessions with Downton Abby, The Crown, and The Royals, it seems like the world has had a resurgent thirst for all things Royal.

Nothing speaks more to British Luxury than the notable collections of Clive Christian, known first for his mastery of luxury interiors, he happened upon a humble perfume house in Mayfair, London, once so distinguished is was intimately known by Queen Victoria and decided to restore the treasure to its former state.

Men’s Gift Guide: For the Sophisticated Man

A Master craftsman, Clive Christian builds his fragrances around historical periods in British History. Each detail from the design of the bottle, which begins with a replica of Queen Victoria’s crown as the stopper, which was given to The Crown Perfumery in 1872 as the former Monarch was once a patron and when the company was purchased by Clive Christian on 1999, the rights and design were acquired.

The coat of arms, “Faux Animi Onesti Gloria” translated into “in truth and honesty, glory will be found” is the motto behind Clive Christian. Granted by the royal college of arms in accordance with The Royal Victorian Order.

Each bottle is designed to visually begin the journey that Clive Christian perfumes desires the wearer to enter. The scents are not simply designed to allure, they are to be remembered, creating a story, a memorable moment. As he explains, Marc Anthony, it is said, fell in love with Cleopatra, before she arrived as the scent of her Jasmine soaked sails wafted through air arriving first. His passion was unleased.

The Noble Collection “which commenced in 2016 with Noble VII, stands proudly in the Clive Christian Perfume family as an olfactory tribute to notable periods in British architectural and design history. Paying homage through the selection and concentration of some of the most prized ingredients and influences of the era, the Noble perfumes are some of the most complex and evocative in the portfolio.”

The Noble Collection, VIII Rococo, Immortelle, is designed to arrive first, without overpowering, and is the most recent addition to the portfolio of fragrances for Men.

Noble VIII Immortelle

Referencing Rococo’s predilection for overt yet playful grandeur, Noble VIII Immortelle opens with the bright, fresh notes of bergamot and lemon, harnessing the velvety note of the infamous everlasting flower, Immortelle at its heart to add an enlivening sensual quality. Native to southern Europe where it grows on dry rocky and sandy terrain, Immortelle flowers never fade from a vibrant yellow, even when dried. When fused with woody undertones of calming papyrus, amber and vetiver, it produces a masculine depth which lingers on skin and unravels to reveal unrivaled elegance and complexity.
