Reacher, from Prime Video, presents the fourth season of Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow, starring Alan Ritchson, as Jack Reacher, who, in the early morning hours, finds himself on a Philadelphia subway, attempting to disarm a distraught passenger.
As the first few minutes unfold, we see Major Jack Reacher, a retired, but deadly, military war machine, processing each of the commuters that were also on the subway, until he sees Susan Merrick, in an uncredited role, who exhibits a few of the expected signs of a subway bomber.

After attempting to talk her down, the situation goes from bad to worse, and Reacher finds himself in the Philly police station, on the night shift, held as a person of interest in the case. Her death weighs heavily on him, and he believes he is somewhat accountable for her actions, that he failed to stop, what he believes could have been avoided.
We meet two detectives, an old timer, Detective Shaun Docherty, played by Kevin Corrigan, waiting out his retirement. His days of chasing the bad guy and doing the right thing are over. Now, it is desk duty, if he is told its over, then its over. And his partner, Tamara Green, played by Sydelle Noel, a former homicide detective who stepped on the wrong toes, and was busted down to midnights, where nothing ever happens and she can punch the clock and count the days. Then they meet Jack Reacher.
By morning, Reacher has sized up both the detectives, and been interviewed by the CIA's B team, obviously, the subway suicide was not as simple as it seemed. By afternoon, the next of kin, a police officer from New Jersey, Jacob Merrick, played Chris Marquette, had been notified and has Susan, was his only sister, he is devastated.

When Reacher is released, a black SUV approaches him, and the mystery deepens as the two Asians attempt to force him into the car. After they all realize who is controlling the moment, Reacher makes a deal with them. He sees, Merrick, in the diner across the street and approaches him and attempts to find out everything he knows about a USB drive that Susan supposedly had on her when she died.
Soon he is meeting the next piece of the puzzle, a petite, attractive Asian, Lila Hoth, played by Agnez Mo, who explains the critical importance of finding the USB drive. Her life, as she explains, softly and gently to Reacher, depends on it.
It is clear Reacher is lured in, hook, lie, and sink her, or in this case, him, and believes he is following up on the only lead anyone seems to have as to why Susan, whose son is a star college football player, and has close family ties, would commit suicide.
Soon, the bodies begin to drop, and Reacher decides to ask Detective Green to help, and Jacob insist on helping, if it will find who murdered his sister.
By the end of the day, all three have been kidnapped and are being held in a CIA black site.

Reacher, Season Four, is a binge-worthy, entertaining, high tech, fast action, and intriguing series that isn't shy on introducing the possibility of innocent people being used as pawns in a deadly, and lucrative, gain.
Each episode uncovers true identities, motives, and pulls back the layers on what is a complex, and completely surprising, and unexpected, contemporary plot. The minute-by-minute, unpacking of the details, and use of every possible technology advancement, is not only fresh, but believable, pitting Reacher and his new companions against the forces, both good and bad, that seem to be in control.
