Call My Agent Review – Addictingly Fun French Television Series Gears Up For Season Two

Call My Agent, from Mon Voisin Productions and Mother Productions, the quirky, genuinely funny, behind the scenes business entertainment industry French television series streaming to American audiences through Netflix is gearing up for Season Two.
Directed by Laurent Tirad and created by Fanny Herrero, Call My Agent, stars Camille Cottin, Thibault de Montalembert, Gregory Montel, Liliane Rovere, Hicham Janowski, Fanny Sidney, Virginie Efira and Ramzy Bedia and Fabrice Luchini.
With Season One streaming Call My Agent begins at ASK Agency created by the well-known and equally respected agent Samuel Kerr, a top Paris talent agent, who has working for him four unique, eccentric and quirky agents, all of whom share a fondness for the agency’s founder.

We meet the agent, Andrea Martin, played by Camille Cottin, who passion for film spills over when others fail to see her vision, she plays an “out” lesbian who is constantly looking for Ms. Right and frequently finds Ms. Right Now in the search.
Mathis Barneville, played by Thibault de Montalembert, the agency heir apparent, all about the business and securing the contract, he plays hardball when necessary and as the business is war all is fair. He is no stranger to the business and understands the nature of the beast, a man with secrets he understands the best way to keep the peace is keep the secrets kept and quiet.
Gabriel Sarda, played by Gregory Montel, approaches his clients differently. He support and gives them thoughtful attention, he only tells them what they need to know to keep them happy and on course. If there are bumps in the road, his clients never know. He is honest when he can be and the rest of the time he avoids any interaction.
Our grand dame of the group, Liliane Rovere, played by Arlette Azemar, has made the agency and business her life. Her passion, as strong as Andrea’s, her business sense equal to Mathis, her selective reasoning clear better than Gabriel’s. She is the matriarch of the bunch with wisdom, sarcasm and humor all doled out in doses when needed.
Each of these four have an assistant: Herve Andre-Jezak, played by Nicolas Maury, Assistant to Gabriel, Noemie Leclerc, played by Laure Calamy, Assistant to Mathias; Camille Valentini, played by Fanny Sidney, Assistant to Andrea, and a secret relationship with one of the characters and Sofi Leprince, played by Stefi Celma, the agency’s receptionist.
The Samuel Kerr ASK Talent Agency, like all offices has its share of romantic liaisons, hidden agendas, back stabbing manipulations, and comradery. More than colleagues as the season unveils, the ASK Team are a dysfunctional, tightly knit, family.
With charming appeal, the AKS Agency with all its quirks, eccentricities are clearly engaging and endearing as these “professionals” work the industry from the agency side navigating the worldwide entertainment business.
Call My Agent has been playing on French TV since 2015 and premiered in the United States in 2017. After the West Coast premiere at the 2016 COLCOA, fans of the comedy series were able to enjoy the complete first season on Netflix. The show’s phenomenal success around the world has led to its nomination for an international Emmy Award.
Now COLCOA gives you the chance to get the jump on Season Two. Camille, Mathias, Gabriel, Andrea and Arlette are back with six more installments of mishaps, misunderstandings, and misadventures at the ASK talent Agency. And once again they will stop at nothing to make certain their clients’ interest are served.

Episode One of Season Two Premiered at the 2017 COLCOA Film Festival and was once again the favorite of the French Television programming. I became a fan.
