Independence Day - 20th Anniversary FOX Launch/LAFF Screening Kicks Off Resurgence Debut

Independence Day, the 1996 Sci-Fi epic from Director Roland Emmerich and Fox Home Entertainment, recently released a newly restored theatrical and extended cut Blu-Ray DVD with the Digital HD version out on June 6, 2016.

The recent Home Entertainment launch held on the Fox Studios Lot featured a Question and Answer pre-screening with Roland Emmerich, Jeff Goldblum and Vivica A. Fox. With enhanced sound effects and restored clarity, Independence Day - 20th Anniversary Edition is a must for Home Entertainment enthusiasts.

The lucky audience members were treated with a trip into movie wonderland as those who received the tickets had the chance to walk through the Century City studio lot, past the soundstages, into the pulse of movie making fun!

Special features included all one would expect and a coveted thirty-minute documentary titled Independence Day: A Legacy Surging Forward.

The Los Angeles Film Festival held a special free screening of the original Oscar winning Independence Day for the public to enjoy the alien encounters and thrill rides as freedom from tyranny becomes the fight.

As summer 2016 heats up, the 20th Anniversary release begins the push for Independence Day: Resurgence which arrives in theaters June 24, 2016.  

With new techniques, a world worth fighting for, renewed hope and the golden touch of a master director, Resurgence is worth the 20 year wait as no one does disaster films like Roland Emmerich!
