Premiere Date Set for "Killing Grounds: The Gilgo Beach Murders"

Today, Prime Video released the official trailer and announced April 22, 2026, as the premiere date for Killing Grounds: The Gilgo Beach Murders, a gripping new docuseries from The Nacelle Company and Empress Films, directed by Emma Cooper.

 

All four episodes will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

From 1996 to 2011, Gilgo Beach, New York, became the haunting site where 11 bodies were discovered, their deaths shrouded in mystery for years with no suspects identified. This chilling series unravels one of the most notorious criminal cases of our time, offering a comprehensive look at the investigation as new developments bring long-awaited answers closer into focus.

The series arrives amid a major development in the case, as the primary suspect, Rex Heuermann, recently pleaded guilty to the murders of seven women and to causing the death of Karen Vergata—crimes that spanned decades and remained unsolved for years. His admission marks a significant turning point in a case that has long gripped the nation, bringing a measure of closure to victims' families while underscoring the complexities and investigative breakthroughs that ultimately led to his arrest.

The series is produced by The Nacelle Company and Empress Films. Brian Volk-Weiss, Matt Ochacher, Cisco Henson, and Michael Pelmont serve as executive producers for The Nacelle Company. Emma Cooper executive produces under her Empress Films banner and also directs. Eben Davidson also serves as an executive producer for Empress Films. Phil Donlon also serves as an executive producer.
