NEON Promotes Andrew Brown to President of Digital Distribution

NEON announced today that Andrew Brown has been promoted to President of Digital Distribution for the company.  Under his leadership, the Academy Award®-winning studio launched its home entertainment division and formed DECAL in 2021, a home entertainment distribution company. 

Brown, who manages NEON's award-winning library, also oversees the very popular annual NEON FYC DVD box set and the direct-to-consumer digital portal NEON Cinema.   Brown has served as SVP of Digital Strategy, Marketing and Distribution for NEON since 2017 and will also continue to serve as Co-President of DECAL.

NEON's upcoming slate includes the November 23 release of Laura Poitras' documentary All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, winner of the Venice Film Festival's Golden Lion, and Kore-eda's Broker, starring Cannes Best Actor winner Song Kang Ho (Parasite), premiering December 26.  Recent prominent releases include: 2022's highest grossing documentary, Moonage Daydream, Brett Morgan's genre-defying film chronicling the career of David Bowie; Sara Dosa's acclaimed documentary Fire of Love, and Ruben Östlund's Triangle of Sadness, NEON's third consecutive Palme d'Or winner.

Screen Media Acquires Worldwide Rights to “Blood Knot”

During his 20+ years in the film and TV industry, Brown has been at the forefront of the digital video business, starting with Rainbow Media (now Altice) and INDEMAND.  Starting in 2006, he took over the expansion and development of Time Warner Cable's Video On Demand service, making it into one of the nation's largest streaming video platforms.  After Time Warner Cable's acquisition by Charter in 2016, he joined NEON as the SVP of Digital Distribution & Strategy.  In 2021, alongside his role at NEON, he became Co-President of DECAL, a new film label and full-service home entertainment distributor for various studios, including NEON, Bleecker Street and XYZ.

Vendôme Pictures Taps Morten Tyldum to Direct "Ibelin"

Other noteworthy NEON releases include: David Cronenberg's Crimes of The Future; Palm Springs starring Andy Samberg; Portrait of a Lady on Fire and Petite Maman from French writer-director Celine Sciamma; Todd Douglas Miller's Apollo 11, 2019's highest grossing documentary in the world; and Tim Wardle's Three Identical Strangers, winner of the Sundance Special Jury Award for Storytelling, which surpassed $13M at the box office.

Following a successful collaboration on I, Tonya in January 2018, 30WEST partnered with NEON's Tom Quinn (Founder & CEO) and Tim League (Co-Founder) to become majority investors in the company.
