Topic Acquires Season Three of Critically Acclaimed French Political Drama "Baron Noir"

Topic, the new streaming service from First Look Media, announced they have acquired the exclusive rights to season three of the French political drama "BARON NOIR," a suspenseful epic drama developed by Eric Benzekri and Jean-Baptiste Delafon. 

Directed by Zlad Doueiri, Baron Noir tells the story of French politician Philippe Rickwaert (Kad Merad), who thirsts for revenge against his political enemies.

Philippe's political career is in shambles after he is sacrificed by presidential candidate Francis Laugier (Niels Arestrup) during the election. As Philippe plots against him, forging alliances and cultivating friendships across social stratas, his life becomes a fascinating, organized chaos, and a constant battle against his enemies and his own demons.


Focus Features Acquires the Crime Drama The Outfit From Filmnation Entertainment

The series premiered on Canal+ on February 8, 2016 and stars Kad Merad, Niels Arestrup, and Anna Mouglalis. A worldwide hit, "BARON NOIR" was nominated for Best Series by Globes De Cristal Awards, Venice TV, and L'Association des Critiques de Series.  
 
Described as a cross between "The Sopranos" and "West Wing" the third season of "BARON NOIR" mirrors modern day political life in France. Praised by The New York Times, for "the way it sheds light on the unexpected current state of French politics", it's eerie similarities between the current climate that President Emmanuel Macron faces in the age of populists gaining ground in the political sphere will be realized.

All eight episodes of season three's "BARON NOIR" will begin streaming exclusively on Topic on March 4, 2021. Seasons 1 and 2 are also available to watch on the platform.
