INTERSTELLAR To Play The California Science Center Imax® Theatre In Limited Engagement Through January 17

IMAX and Paramount Pictures today announced a special limited run of Christopher Nolan's acclaimed film "INTERSTELLAR" at the California Science Center IMAX® theatre, marking the first time a theatrical presentation of a major motion picture has screened there.

"INTERSTELLAR" at the California Science Center will initially run from December 26 to December 30, with additional show times every Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. from January 2 through January 17.

In line with the event nature of the engagement, the first 300 ticket holders attending shows each day from December 26 - 30 will receive a limited edition "INTERSTELLAR" IMAX Collector's Artist Poster Print.

Tickets will be available for purchase by phone or at the Science Center's box office.

Continuing the legacy begun by IMAX trailblazer Christopher Nolan and his use of the 15 perf 65mm IMAX® cameras in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, Nolan has once again captured key sequences of "INTERSTELLAR" using IMAX® cameras. These specific sequences will expand to fill the entire screen exclusively in IMAX® theatres with breathtaking image quality and scope for a truly immersive experience.

"INTERSTELLAR" stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow and Michael Caine. With our time on Earth coming to an end, a team of explorers undertakes the most important mission in human history; traveling beyond this galaxy to discover whether mankind has a future among the stars.

Directed by Christopher Nolan, written by Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan, and produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Lynda Obst.

Sequences of "INTERSTELLAR" filmed in 35mm will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
